He was kicked out of the only home he'd ever knew. He was abandoned. Unloved. Unwanted. Worthless. Apparently Jack didn't fit into his Dad's new girlfriend's plan.
He stood on the sidewalk outside his two-story house, a duffle bag by his side filled with only the essentials. He turned from the house, from his Dad, for it was a blinking reminder of a wound far too fresh. The cold night air felt like it could knock him over. He felt weak. Jack gazed one last time up at the building he once knew so well. Now he was by himself. Alone.
