I woke up at 8:30, dragging my self out of bed. I had to be at school by 9. It was August 23, still summer vacation but because of the new student orientation even though I wasn't a new student I had to go and be a tour guide because I was in ASB (associated student body) and ASB ran it. I moaned at the thought of walking around all day.

After 5 mins, I finally got up and slid on my ASB shirt with black skinny jeans. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled at my hair. Instead of the curly frizzy mess it usually is, it was straight and silky. Thank god for flat irons. I grabbed a pony band and pit my hair in a Ariana Grande style up do.

As I brushed my teeth, the aching came back from my newly tightened braces. While walking out of the bathroom , I look at the clock. 8:49. I slid on my fake converse from Payless and grabbed my phone dashing to the kitchen. My stomach growled. Looking around, I choose a cereal bar then ran to the car to where my mom was waiting for me.

With half a cereal bar in my mouth , i yelled bye to my mom and ran to room 309, the ASB room.

I took a seat next to my best friend, Monique but everyone calls her Moe. "Good morning sleeping beauty" Moe said as I sat down.

"Hey" I replied trying to catch my breath.

"Let me guess , you woke up half an hour ago, got ready like a mad person and dashed out the door with a cereal bar in your mouth"

I nodded. She knew me too well. I looked at her outfit. We were wearing the same thing, if you looked at only under our necks u would think we were twins. But when you get to above our necks, Moe had beautiful straight blonde hair that had the perfect high and lowlights, eyes the color of the Mediterranean sea and had Snow White skin. On the other hand , I have charcoal hair with dark brown natural hightlights, chocolate colored eyes and olive skin.

I zoned out for a second. Mr. G was taking roll, "Ariel" I didn't notice that he was calling me. "Ariel, ARIEL" Mr. G repeated.

"Huh, oh here" I said coming back to the real world.

After roll we all headed out to the tables to sign in the students that came and gave them their group icon. Jillian and i covered the people with last names from A to C. Jillian is a seventh grader with long caramel hair with eyes the same color as her hair.

Then everyone was assigned an icon group. My group was the happy faces with Isabel and Shelby. Our group was to meet at the north west corner of the gym. As we made our way outside of the gym, we decided to spread out. Shelby would be in front, Isabel in the middle and I would be the caboose.

On our way to the first stop I , as always ,was humming a song and introducing myself to some of the new students. No one really caught my eye, except this one boy.

He was tall with little muscle. He was wearing a black shirt with neon skateboards on it, tan shorts, a red and blue hat with black and blue glasses. His eyes were the exact same color as mine and he had freckles scattered on his face like pepperoni on a pizza.

At first I thought he was cute but he would never like me . I walked a little behind him and then he started to slow down and walk behind me. I ignored him in the beginning but then I turned around and yelled "Come on hurry up! We don't have all day".

He replied "Okay Okay" as running towards me. "I'm Dylan" he said the moment our strides matched. "Hey, I'm Ariel" I said smiling. Oh no, I wasn't gonna do this, I am not gonna fall for him. Dylan did a little smirk and that was it. I , Ariel Summers, was falling for a guy that I met 3 minutes ago.
