*school bell rings*
Fourth period, ugh. How I dread going to Mrs. Price's class. Essays and drafts are becoming the death of me, but that's not the worse part of fourth period. A clique of girls, the Bimbos, who sit behind my friend Teresa and I, always have something to say about me. Every week I hear them whispering and snickering, "Hah, I bet her daddy bought those shoes for her." "Dumb bitch." "She thinks she's so bad because she has a modeling contract, only thing she's good for is being on her knees." If only they knew..
"Come on Maddie! Why are you spacing out? We're gonna be late," Teresa said while pulling my arm to make me walk faster.
As we walked into the classroom, I could see Mrs. Price's eyes squint behind her large circle framed glasses. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Late again? What's the reason for this girls?"
"Sorry Mrs. Price, we --" Teresa started but she was cut off when Mrs. Price raised her hand, gesturing for us to be quiet and go to our seats. Teresa's face turned bright red out of embarrassment, but she quietly walked to her seat while I followed behind. Before I could sit down, I felt a sharp pinch on my butt. I looked back and saw Brian, my boyfriend, giving me a cheeky smile accompanied with a wink. I gave him a shy smile and took my seat behind him.
"Class I want you all to be on your best behavior since we have a new student joining us today. His name is Derek Sanchez and he will be finishing junior and senior year with you all," Mrs. Price said excitedly while walking over to the door. I rolled my eyes over the cheesy introduction she gave and glanced over at Teresa who was giggling.
"What?" I asked sharply. Teresa shook her head and whispered "you", making me more annoyed.
"Come on in. Don't be shy," said the leader of the Bimbos, Lacey, in a sarcastic, hoarse voice.
...oh my. Who is this guy? He doesn't look like your typical "new student" or even a high school student. Derek. That's your name. Wow. Long broad shoulders and strong arms. Wait! I have Brian, but why can't I keep my eyes off this guy? His pale yet vibrant skin tone. God..his muscles are bulging through his shirt, looks like his shirt might rip. His eyes are a striking blueish-grey, anyone can get lost in his eyes. Oh shit he's looking at me! Shit he's coming this way!
To my left I see an empty seat, which causes me to panic even more. As Derek came closer to the empty seat beside me, I dropped my pencil.
"Fuck," I hissed under my breath. As I reach down to pick it up, I feel someone's forehead lightly tap against mine. I gasped and my head shot up, meeting blueish-grey eyes. My heart began to beat faster as I saw his lips mouthing words. Huh? What is he saying? I can't hear anything.
"Um..hello? Do you want your pencil back or not?" Derek asked with a perplexed face. I swiped my pencil from his hand and looked away.
Gosh, I bet he thinks I'm fucking mental. But why did he have to sit next to me? Out of all the empty desks, why this one? But why am I happy he chose this seat also? I shouldn't be thinking this way, it's wrong. Besides he's probably some weirdo and recognized me from magazines. Hah! Yeah, that's why he sat next to me. Men drool over me and I don't blame them. Brian is lucky to have me and I'm lucky to have him, so sorry Derek but you'll never have me.
"MADISON! I'm asking you a question? Or do you only answer questions from your agent?!" yelled Mrs. Price. I guess I must've spaced out for too long, totally ignoring Mrs. Price. Her remark was met with laughter from other students. The Bimbos behind me cheered Mrs. Price on saying, "Yeah, you tell her Mrs. Price." "Her agent? Don't you mean her pimp, haha."
Brian turned around and glared at the Bimbos and then looked at me with sincere eyes to console me. Mrs. Price tried her best to calm down the class, but the damage was done. Teresa reached over and tried to place her hand on top of mine but before she made contact, I got out of my seat, grabbed my book bag, and ran out of the class. Tears stung my eyes and blurred my vision as I ran down the hall. I just want, no, need to get out of here. Why? That's the only question in my mind. Why me?
