"Wow, you've officially managed to ruin my morning. You should be so proud of yourself Y/N."

"I like the way you say my name Lauren. Makes me feel tingly on the inside." The green eyed waitress rolled her eyes and walked away from my table.

"I think she's in love with you!" Mario teased, laughing his ass off with his wife as they watched my failed attempts to win Lauren over.

"I know, she's just playing hard to get. She will be mine." I finished my breakfast and placed a forty dollar tip in the receipt book after paying my usual bill.

Day Three

"No no no, I don't want those clothes distributed in that area. Too crime filled. Put them in San Diego or Santa Monica, but opening a shop in Las Vegas - you're asking for trouble. Hey, I'll call you back after lunch okay?" I hung up with my financial consultant and business partner Tristan Knight.

"You seem busy this afternoon," Lauren bought my chicken tenders, fries, smoothie, and pineapple cheesecake to my table after I ended my phone call. "You haven't flirted with me all the time you've been here."

"Yeah, I'm trying to expand something of mine, but I have no idea where to put it. Never mind, I shouldn't be burdening you with my problems. How's your day going so far gorgeous? I haven't flirted with you all day." I winked. Lauren gave me her signature eye roll and a small smile.

"Quiet. It's been relatively slow in here today."

"Today's the day when that clothing store across the street sells a bunch of stuff half off," I pointed towards the store across the street from my apartment and diner. "Everyone's coming in AFTER the sale. Trust me you'll have plenty to do after two thirty, and when you've been here a year for 426 days straight, you notice things. Are you going to the sale?"

"With no money? The owner would surely laugh in my face."

"The owner isn't there yet. She doesn't make her appearance in there until two thirty."

"You've seriously memorized all of that?"

"426 days Lauren. Yes, I've memorized everything that happens on these streets."

"Again, that's a little weird. Anyways, like I said, I have no money."

"Now you do," I slid a fifty dollar bill across the table. "Her stuff isn't that expensive, I've seen it personally. Buy yourself something nice."

"Y/N, I won't take this money from you. Besides, you're trying to buy a date from me."

I laughed and wiped the corners of my mouth, wiping away the crumbs and honey mustard sauce. "I'm really not. I like you, but I also know that you work hard in here. Suzy and Mario pay what they can, but sometimes a girl needs a little change for her pockets."

"Fine, I'll take your money. But I'm still declining your offer to go on a date with you."

"Well, I'll be a pest and keep asking until you accept."

"I hate you."

"Love you too babe."

Suzy approached my table and smacked the back of my head when Lauren walked away. "Why didn't you tell her you OWN that store across the street? And the one on Rodeo Drive?"
