"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you Lauren." I extended my hand. She simply nodded in my direction and went back to cleaning tables and delivering other people's food to their tables.
"She seems... interesting." I never took my eyes off the green eyed beauty who narrowed her eyes in my direction every time she caught my eyes.
"She's a bit intimidating at first, but a total sweetheart once she gets used to you. It might take some time, but she'll come around." Suzy explained.
"I hope she does." I gave the girl one last smile before returning to my food.
"That's all for you until later right?" Lauren approached my table once I cleared my plate. I smiled at her presence and nodded, declining the receipt for the total of my order.
"I know how much I owe. I've ordered the same things everyday for a year now."
"You've been eating chicken tenders and fries for a year straight? Something's wring with you." It was a little too judgmental for my liking, but I figured if she had enough guts to call me out for liking a specific type of food that she was the type of girl that would gladly speak her mind and not hold back any punches. I liked that in a person.
"Nothing's wrong with me liking a certain food Lauren. You shouldn't be so judgmental. After all, I left you a generous tip for all your services." I winked and left the diner, having left the green eyed woman a thirty dollar tip.
Day Two
"I see they were right," Lauren said as she brought my usual breakfast of two gravy covered chicken biscuits, a side of bacon, eggs, and dark roast coffee to my table. "You do always frequent this place."

"I have to. I don't have time to cook meals as good as this. So Lauren, tell me about yourself." Lauren looked at me as if I'd said the dumbest thing in the world.
"Okay," she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't like repetitive people." Ouch.
"That's everything I need to know about you?" I ignored her insult. I could tell she was just masquerading her softer side behind some walls she'd built around herself. "What about your hobbies, your passions? What makes Lauren J. happy?"
"You really wanna know what makes me happy?" She sat the hot pot of coffee on the table and leaned a little closer. I rapidly nodded my head. I wanted to know everything I could about this girl.
"When you leave here. It makes my day go by a lot faster."
"Okay, you're a little mean," I playfully folded my arms across my chest. "I'll forgive you if you go on a date with me tonight." I decided to be bold and let Lauren know I was actually interested in her.
