I'm so tired. We've been running for a while now but there's no time to stop. I looked behind me to see if we were still being chased but there was no one there anymore. I then slipped my hand out of Lucius's grasp and rested my hands on my knees, breathing heavily.
"Hey, come on we gotta keep moving." He pressed, grabbing my hand once again. "We can't chill right now. I can hear them."
I looked up and wiped off the sweat from my forehead. "I can't do this anymore Lucius. I'm not a freakin' marathon runner like you. I'm a sprinter."
He rolled his eyes and started pulling me again insistently. "Do you wanna live or die?"
"Just give me a break alright?" I snapped, pulling my hand away and peeked behind the building to check if anyone was there and scanned the structure. "We can probably rest here for awhile. Hide somewhere or something."
"Alright fine." He grumbled deafeatedly. "But if they find us, it's your fault."
I scoffed as we entered the building. "La di da. At this point, I honestly don't care anymore. We're just two of 10 year olds. What can we do? We barely know how to fight and even if we did know, our chances of survival against cyborgs are very slim."
"Shut the hell up will you? I never said we had to fight them. But until we figure out how to defeat them, we'll just run like hell." Lucius said, trying to be optimistic but hear the fear and uncertainty was clear in his voice.
That made me laugh a little and covered my mouth hastily after I heard how loud I was. "Yeah, yeah, whatever little brother."
All of a sudden, a bunch of those robo-soldiers raided the building and the last thing I remembered was screaming frantically before being slaughtered by them.
I should've been dead. But I awoke to a bright light that burned my eyes temporarily. "What....where is...." I mumbled and tried to move but couldn't. Or rather, there was nothing to move. It was as if I had been paralyzed. That's probably what's happening going on. But I was talking. I heard myself talk. Maybe I'm paralyzed from the neck down. Then again I can't move my head. I started to panic and let out a shriek.
Then darkness again. I probably fainted. I don't know how much time passed when I came to again to see a scientist standing beside me whom looked like he could be in his 40's or so, wearing an evil grin on his face. I knew he was doing something to me but didn't know what exactly.
"Sit up." He ordered.
I complied with his orders but was confused. I couldn't feel anything but I'm moving. Don't tell me....no....that can't be right. None of this is right. I tried speaking again....nothing. I can't talk. I can't even move any part of my body.
The scientist then wrote something on his pad as he checked something on his monitor. "I'm sure you must be confused right now, is that right?"
What the hell do you think?!
He met my eyes and chuckled as if he had read my thoughts. "Well if you want to know what happened to you, all you have to know is that I've turned you into a cyborg. And I must say, you and your brother, I assume, are currently my most successful creation aside the last one."
What....?
"Unfortunately," He continued as he flipped through his notes. "you still have some technical difficulties I still have to fix. But that won't be much of a problem as long as you won't get corrupted by..."
There was a short silence before he set down the notes on the table and walked over towards me, leaning in a little too close for comfort.
"Hm." His hazel green eyes scanned my face as he stroked his chin. "Aren't you a little too aware of everything? Your brother on the other hand was completely submissive that he's probably closer to an actual robot."
