Chapter Four~The Way Brothers.

Start from the beginning

"This looks good." I pointed to one of the shelf, smiling. I had never been into comics, but now that I think about it, they are actually not that bad. I pick it up and flick through it, Frank watching me.

"Oh, I've read that one, it was alright, not the best one I've read though." He smiled. Just then, the door opened and me and Frank turn around at the same time. No way. Gerard and Mikey stepped into the shop and looked around, before laying their eyes on me and Frank. Gerard quickly looked away, but Mikey half-smiled at Frank, acting like I wasn't there.

"Mikey! Gerard!" Frank said, surprised. Gerard looked up slightly and nodded, before walking over to a shelf on the other side of the store. Exchanging a glance with Frank, I put the comic I was holding back in its place and turned to look at the boys.

"Frank, what're you doing here?" Judging by Mikey's look, he probably wanted to ask what he was doing here with me.

"Oh, I wanted to show Crissy this comic store." Frank shrugged. I looked at his face, but it was unreadable. Why did Mikey and Gerard have to come in now? Looking down at the floor, I listened to Mikey and Frank as they converse.

After a few minutes, I looked up again and noticed Gerard had moved closer towards me, scanning the walls of comics, ignoring us. He looked up at Frank, then at Mikey, then me. Our eyes meet for a few second, but he quickly looked away.

"Hey, guys, wanna come over to my house?" Frank asked, his voice cheerful. It sounded quite out of place, as everyone else was feeling quite awkward, especially me.

"Sure, why not? Gerard?" Mikey asked, looking over at Gerard, who had taken another step towards me, still scanning the shelves.

"Mhm, whatever." He mumbled, his eyes fixed on the comics infront of him. I couldn't help but stare at him. Frank poked me, bringing me back to the present.

"How about you?" He asked, a mischevious grin on his face.

"Uh, sure." I nodded quickly, but only then did I realize what I had signed up for.

"This movie sucks! It's not even scary!" Frank laughed as the vampire woman jumped out at a man, making me, Gerard and Mikey jump. Frank looked at us and smirked. "You scared?"

"No." We all hissed in unison, even though we all were really. Frank just laughed at us and looked back at the screen. Somehow, I had ended up lodged between Gerard and Mikey, much to my discomfort. I couldn't help but notice that Gerard was practically hugging my arm, staring at the screen with wide eyes.

"How long is left?" I asked, hoping that it would finish soon-I didn't want my arm to loose all its feeling because of Gerard. Frank looked at me and then at Gerard, and burst out laughing. Rolling my eyes, I looked back at the screen.

Just as I looked back, the ending credits appeared on the screen. Finally. Sighing, I tried to get up, but Gerard was still hugging my arm, whether concious of it or not. He looked at me, confused, and then quickly let go of my arm, blushing slightly.

"Oh, sorry." He shuffled away from me, frowning. I nodded and shuffled away too, awkwardly.

"Mikey, I forgot to ask you earlier, but I need your help with my math homework, and seems you're so good at it." Frank gave Mikey the puppy eyes, causing me to giggle.

"Is that why you dragged us over here? To help with your homework?" Mikey laughed and nodded. "Sure." He glanced at Gerard, before following Frank out of the room. Great-I was left alone with Gerard. He looked at me, a frown plastered to his face. We sat in silence for a several awkward moments, and then Gerard started speaking.

"Hey Crissy, when I said stay away from us-I meant it. You'll only end up getting hurt." Gerards frown deepened, his eyes boring into mine. I blinked. What had brought this on all of a sudden?

"I...I don't want to. I don't care if I get hurt." I frowned, staring back into his eyes, daring him to tell me to leave them alone again. He looked away.

"Whatever you want, but don't blame me when you get hurt." He sighed and turned his head away from me, his face sad. I noticed that his black eye had gone a purple colour, even though he had tried to cover it up with makeup.

"Why do those jocks pick on you?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. I covered my mouth, knowing that was the worst question I could have asked. A pained expression flickered across Gerards face, but he quickly hid it. His eyes narrowed, staring at the blank TV-screen.

"How am I supposed to know? Personally, I think they pick on us because we're different. We like different music, we have a different fashion sense. It's pathetic really." Sighing, he rested his elbow on the arm of the sofa and rested his head on his hand, glaring at the TV.

Speechless, I stared at his face, thinking over what he had just said. Who would do such a thing? Just because someone was slightly different didn't mean they had to pick on them. Looking down at my feet, I was about to reply when Frank came bounding back in the room, dragging Mikey behind him.

"Hey guys! Finished my homework already, Mikey's so amazing!" Frank dived on the sofa inbetween me and Gerard, grinning. Mikey perched on the arm of the sofa next to Gerard, staring at me intently through his glasses.

"Hey Crissy, did I ever tell you Mikey and Gerard are brothers?" Frank grinned, watching the shock spread across my face. Really? I looked at them, surprised. Now that I think about it, they do look a little bit alike, but not much.

"Oh, no you didn't, but I'm not too surprised, I mean, they do look quite alike." I smiled, glancing from Gerard to Mikey. Mikey laughed and raised his eyebrow.

"I really look like that ugly thing?" He poked his brothers face, smirking. Gerard laughed, and slapped his hand away. Gerard looked so much nicer when he smiled. I noticed that I was smiling like an idiot, but I didn't care. At least Gerard was being alright now.
