Diya PoV:

Shourya's behaviour hurt me for the first time. I have no hopes on this relationship but at the sametime my heart is not ready to break it without trying.

"Diya, I have arranged another room for you with a bed and other stuff required. You can shift to that room," Shourya said, without facing me.

I didn't understand what to say and took my bags to shift the room but stopped seeing mom.

"Shourya, your dad went to Delhi for a meeting. So, I will stay here until he returns. I think there is a spare bed room in your house, right?" mom said, smiling.

I understood that mom heard our conversation. Shourya looked at mom in shock and simply nodded. In the dining hall, I served food to him and mom. I served the dish which he hates the most to him. Mom told me about his likes and dislikes. He looked at food once and then turned towards me. I thought he would get angry at me.

"Diya, you too sit with us and have food. In our family, we have food together," Shourya said.

I didn't find even a bit of anger in his face. I sat and we had food together listening to Shourya's childhood moments shared by mom.

I remembered my childhood which has only bitter moments. Shourya patted on my hand slowly as if he understood that my mood is not good. He said no to this relationship but not to me. He cares for me and now understood my feelings without saying anything.

We went to our room and I stood on balcony enjoying the cool breeze.

"What's up, Diya?" Shourya said standing beside me.

"Weather is so pleasant," I said, embracing it. My hairs wavered due to that wind and I loved it. The dark sky with infinite stars made me feel free from all the worries for a while.

"Is your ankle pain cured? Did you take tablets?" Shourya said, bringing me out of my thoughts.

I nodded and laid on the bed. Shourya slept without extending the conversation or working on any case file. In the midnight, I got a call and went out taking my camera and spy pen.

I reached a guest house where an entrepreneur is talking to the terrorists to plan a blast in the city. I was unable to see that entrepreneur, but saw the faces of those terrorists. I recorded it in my spy pen. I turned to go but unfortunately one person noticed me.

He called his men and I managed to run from there to the road. I tried to escape on my scooty but unfortunately it didn't start. I ran from there. My injured ankle bled and sweat formed throughout my body. I stopped and turned back only to find those goons approaching me. I thought this is my last day having no way to escape.

Suddenly, a bike stopped in front of me asking me to get onto the bike. Helmet covered his face and I assumed it as a trap.

"Diya, fast," that man said.

It's Shourya. I sat on the bike immediately and we reached home. I was scared of Shourya as I thought he might scold me for going out at midnight and being this careless. Instead, Shourya gave water to me and removed the bandage of my ankle covered with blood. He tied a fresh bandage and gave a pain-killer to me. I took it and laid on the bed.

Shourya saved me though I didn't ask him for help. He cares for me. He understands my pain and feelings without even telling him . I looked at him. He is handsome even in that sleeping posture. His heart is pure and kind. I want to make this relationship permanent but what about my past?

Will he agree if I say I was a widow? Can I become a part of his life along with his duty? Maybe only time can answer these questions.

In the morning, I woke up and found him staring at me. As soon as I opened my eyes, he averted his gaze from me.

"Good morning, Shourya."

"Good morning. How are you? Is your ankle still paining?" Shourya said.

"No, it's better now. Thank you for saving me yesterday."

"It's my duty," Shourya said, making my smile fade away.

Of course, as a police officer, it's his duty to save the public. Expecting more from him is my mistake.

Shourya PoV:

"It's my duty," I said and Diya's smile faded.

It's my duty to save the one whom I loved in the past and as she is my wife. Diya misunderstood my words thinking I told those words as a police officer. However, I am not going to explain to her.

"Do you prefer coffee?" I said.

Diya nodded and went to get fresh up.

"Where is mom?" Diya asked having the breakfast and sipping coffee prepared by me.

"Mom went to temple," I said.

"Breakfast is delicious. Mom has a magic,"  Diya said assuming it's prepared by mom.

"I can also cook food well," I said.

"You? What a joke! You can shoot well and fight well. But cooking is something which is tough and only a few can master it. Do you know atleast to prepare a coffee?" Diya said.

"Do you know cooking?" I said.

"Of course, I know but not as good as mom. I can cook only a few dishes," Diya said.

I decided to stay at home to prepare lunch for Diya.

"I am leaving to the office.Mom will return home by the evening. Don't come downstairs and avoid straining your legs."

She nodded and I understood that she is not taking my words that seriously.

"Don't ignore my words, Diya. It's dangerous to be careless regarding IPS Shourya's words as it has consequences," I said.

How can I cook food without her notice, if she come downstairs? So, I pretended to be angry with her.

Diya nodded again and this time she took my words seriously. I went to the kitchen to surprise her.
