When I was young and would watch movies or television shows, I always thought that my teenage years would be like Zoey 101. In my head I would go off to a boarding school with my brother and then meet some really cool people and everything would be fun all the time. However, when my teenage years actually arrived I soon realized that not everything is like it is on television. Now, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. But, don't get me wrong. I did think I would be driving a Jet X around campus and have a cute boy like Chase have a crush on me.

The reality? I attended an all-girls school my freshmen year and then transferred to a charter school my sophomore year. I did have a cute boy like Chase have a crush on me, however, that did not end very well. Although my teenage years were not straight out of a movie or show they were fun and lessons were definitely learned.

Soon I'll be turning 20 and while that is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking, I want to share the lessons I learned these past 9 and a half years. Cheers to lessons learned, a diploma earned, and a decade full of ups and downs. Who knows maybe in 10 years I'll be writing "Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving: A real-life novel by Stephanie Jade" we'll just have to see. Here's to my twenties.
