/5/ - Waves Of The Water

CUTE STORYTIME:
So, I got to hangout with the person that I based this story off of for the first time in a while and I had and amazing time.

Any who, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

(y/n)'s POV:
I made my way to the chairs that were surprisingly comfy given we were in the ballroom, which is almost the equivalent to a conference room. The speaker stood up and started to talk to us about how to be a leader and to be an outreach instead of a private club.

I listened for about halfway through when I started to feel a pair of eyes on me. I glanced around the room and saw Josh making funny faces at me. I tried to keep a straight face but eventually decided to mess with him too.

After about a minute or so, the speakers phone falls to the floor with a loud thud that brought me from my "contest" with Josh. Also bringing a small blush that I hope he didn't notice.

The rest of the session was actually fairly interesting, I just couldn't focus because every now and then me and Josh would make eye contact. As soon as I heard the lady tell us that she was all done, I rushed/was dragged out of there by Sarah.

"You gonna tell me who that guy you haven't stopped looking at is?" She said once we were in the safety of the girls room.

"That's the guy I met at the gift shop yesterday."

"Ohhhh, he's cute." She said as a matter of fact

"Maybe a bit" I said, turning crimson.

"HAHA!" She said jumping about and yelling.

"Would you quiet down please?" I say putting a hand over her mouth

Later, after we were released for downtime, me and Sarah got changed into our bathing suits and decided to head down to the indoor water park. Once we got there, we saw a huge ride at the way back, without words me and her headed over to where the stairs to it were. On our way there, we took our cover ups off and set them down into a chair and headed off towards the stairs when we saw a group of guys, standing near the stairs.

It was Josh, Tyler, and one other guy.

Sarah did not pick up on this and we kept walking towards the stairs, my heartbeat got faster with every step. Are we actually going to do this? What if they stare at us? What if they completely ignore us? What if they make in of us?

Each question built on top of the other like heavy weights as my bare feet dragged towards him, dreading that I looked like an idiot.

"Hey!" He said with a sort of confident smirk, although it seemed to be masking something, I couldn't quite put my first finger on it, but I definitely didn't like to picture this guy as anything but whole heartedly happy (Honestly Same)

"Hi," I said almost awkwardly since it wasn't just us anymore, it was Sarah, Cody who had somehow shown up, plus him and Ty, and two other guys that I didn't know.

"Would you want to ride that big slide with us?" He asked cooly.

"Sure" I said as I tried to ignore the feeling of blush on my cheeks.

We clambered up the flights of stares that led to the top of the platform and as we got to the top of the slide, one problem became crystal clear: the tubes only sat four people.

We had amassed a group of seven.

I tried not to let it bother me since Cody, Sarah and I would probably just get a different tube, and maybe it's the fact that I've never really hung out with people like this since I don't leave the house, but I was sort of bummed that we weren't sharing a tube, oh well.

So Sarah and I start to make small talk with Cody not-so-discretely hitting on her. And me attempting not to gauge my eyes out. I'm kidding, it was actually kind of cute.

Suddenly I was pulled out of my thoughts by Josh slowly creeping his head in slightly.
"Hey, so, uh there isn't enough room for me on the raft, I was wondering if I could maybe ride with you guys?" He said.

Ok my cheeks were most definitely crimson at this point. We all looked at each other then said, yeah sure.

Let me make one thing clear, he came from a group of four, I knew that, he would have been fine, but he chose to come and say that he wanted to ride with us. I'm probably reading to far into it though.

As we drew closer to the front of the line, we talked a bit and I saw Josh glancing at Cody a lot. good job (y/n), you went and fell for a gay guy.

As we situated ourselves into the raft, I was between Josh and Sarah with Cody across from me. The ride started to go down the series of turns and I honestly momentarily forgot about Josh and I was in a state of pure excitement because I had never ridden this before.

Somewhere towards the end as we landed in the wading pool, I noticed him looking over at me and I quickly liked away because I didn't want it to seem like I was staring.

Josh's POV:
         She looked so happy when she went on the ride, like there wasn't a thing that could touch her in that moment, she looked really adorable, I wish I could be wherever her mind went to.
