Long, silky blonde hair that falls down to the centre of my back. Bright blue eyes filled with the dream of becoming a doctor. Some how I have flawlessly beautiful skin, coloured a pale tone and perl white teeth that shone like stars. A short and petit figure, with some curves but like most people I'm not very confident.
I stared back at my reflexion, my short legs covered by skin tight black leggings, a grey knitted jumper that fell down over my bum, and to top it off a well fitted denim jacket. This would do, although I knew mother wouldn't like it. I only had lessons for the first two periods anyway but school being stupid made me stay in, but then again I guess that was good as I could do some more biology work. As I weighed up the pros and cons of going to school, there was a knock from downstairs. Faint conversation could be heard and by now I had gathered it was Freddy.
Everyday his parents drove us to school as me and the taller boy had been best friends since year one. But also his mum and my mum were best friends and they often came over for posh and spontaneous dinners. I quickly grabbed my simple black bag and hooked it on to my shoulder. I legged it down the stairs being careful not to fall. At the bottom of the descent was my simple white converse that were worn to the soul but never wanting to toss them out. "Morning Freddy!" I smiled as I slipped on my shoes. "Good Morning Amble." The sandy blonde smiled back.
"We were just organising a date for-" my mum walked out the kitchen, eyes falling on me. "Amble! You can not wear that old piece of fabric to school!" She exclaimed, tearing me free of my denim jacket. "Mum! Please!" I argued as she handed me a long black coat. "You have to look proper my dear." I sighed and nodded following her way of life. I wrapped my self up in the coat and walked towards the door now in a foul mood.
"Hiya Amble!" Freddy's mum, Laura beamed as I got in the car. Laura was always cheerful which lifted my mood a bit as I smiled and greeted her back. "So me and your mother have organised a date for a divine meal in a few weeks time. We couldn't do it sooner as Alfie as got a work trip on at the moment and isn't back till the 20th." Laura explained as we drove down the main roads to school.
The conversation was flowing back and forth between the three of us as we pulled up to a red light. It was quiet outside, peace full with a birds song filling the air. That was until a loud roar of an engine filled the area and coming up beside us a jet black motorbike. The pipes around the edge a gleaming sliver which stood out form the black body. The rider, features unknown, held a strong, well built frame which was engulfed in black leathers. His helmet covered most his face but form where I was sitting he had olive skin, dark eyes and hair. The lights faded from red to amber and the guy on the bike revved his engine getting ready to speed off down the concert road.
I watched intently as the light finally faded from amber to green, and he was off. The immense thunder of the engine filled my ears and within in the seconds the bike was a little speck in the distance. "I do hope that when you two learn to drive, you do not drive like that young man there, very irresponsible." Laura frowned as she carried on down the road.
"Of course not mum, I'd have to be mad, I could get hurt!" Freddy replied to his mothers statement. "Definitely." I agreed. "I don't understand people like that." I added.
Laura smiled in satisfaction at our responses as she pulled into the school car park. As she parked, she tuned around, her short blonde hair falling round her face, "have a good day both of you and I'll see you later!" She said happily. "Thank you Laura." I grabbed my bag waving good bye to Freddy's mum and shut the door to the cream BMW. "See you later mum!" Freddy grinned before shutting his door and turning to me.
"Ready to learn some more biology?" Freddy beamed genuinely excited. I smiled too as I really do enjoy Biology. "Ready Captain Freddy!" We walked into the white halls of the modern school side by side. As we proudly walked into Biology we took our seats which were at the front. I smiled as our lovely teacher Mr.Franta entered the room. He was a happy man who loved kids and Biology so teaching worked just right for him.
Through out the lesson I was happy like always, I never seemed to be extremely sad often which was good. I mean I do have a very nice life, money, intelligence and kindness. Freddy was the same, his parents always looking out for him and offering him the very best to make sure he had the 'perfect' upbringing. Freddy was set for Oxford with the dream of being a heart surgeon, and hopefully so was I. We both had a love for science and hoped to fore fill our childhood dreams when we grow up.
Time ticked by as I quickly wrote notes down in my book, filling up 4 pages from just today's lesson. Soon the bell was ringing and books were thrown back into bags and us kid filled out into the hall ways. Before I could get a chance to leave, Mr.Franta called out my name. "Amble, could I have a word?" I turned back around and stood next to his desk. "Now do you know the student Calum Hood?" He inquired. I frowned, knowing the name but not being able to put a face to it. "He sits at the back of the class, hardly in and well he is flailing." Mr.Franta summarised. I nodded, not sure where this involved me. "Well I was wondering if you could give him some tutoring?" He asked politely. I thought for a few seconds before nodding ready to take on a new challenge. "Great! Thank you Amble!" He smiled and I gathered I was now free to leave.
Thinking over what I had just signed myself up for, I made my way towards the library ready to study, before a large body crashed into mine, knocking me onto the floor. The body stopped and turned around to face me.
Big brown doe eyes, dark hair with olive skin, veins running up his muscular arms. "I am so sorry." A deep and mesmerising voice filled my ears. "It's fine don't worry about it." I smiled sheepishly. I somewhat thought I recognised his face, as his arm out stretched offering me a hand up. "Calum." He smiled, once I was on my feet again. With nothing else said, he turned away walking off towards the entrance of the school.
Calum.
