We had nothing to say to each other, no wait! I had many things to say it's just that to him I was a stranger.
"Damn I missed this car," I teared my eyes away from him.
"You know it?" He asked.
"Hell yeah! I drove this car," I smiled.
"I never let anyone drive this car especially girls," he said.
"I drove it," I exhaled.
"Then you must have been very special," he smirked.
"What do you mean? I'm not special anymore?" I asked.
"I didn't mean it that way," he smiled.

"Oh! You owe me a hundred bucks," I said and wore my serious face on.
"Really?" He asked.
"You should see your face right now," I laughed.
"And you have a great sense of humour," he said with relief.
"Thanks," I smiled.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Sure," he said.
"It's about Shawn," I said.
"Oh yeah, you know about him too?" He asked.
"Yep," I said.

"What about Shawn?" He asked.
"Did he talk to you?" I asked.
"Yeah he called and he's coming back within the upcoming days," he said.
"Oh okay," I said.
"So since you know about Shawn you clearly know about my mom?" He exhaled.
"Yeah," I said.
"So, you are McCarthy?" He asked.
"Yes," I said.

"The girl I've been calling and texting for the past couple of months?" He asked.
"Yeah," I sighed.
"Nice to meet you McCarthy," he held out his hand for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you too," I shook his hand.
"Can I too ask you something?" He asked.
"Shoot," I exhaled.
"It's about the last text I sent to you," he said.
"What about it?" I asked.
"What does it mean?" He asked.

"It's a long story Alex, can take the whole day," I exhaled.
"Okay," he said.
"Tasha! Your mom is about to give a speech!" Q yelled.
"Coming!" I yelled back.
"I have to go," I sighed.
"Wait," he held my hand and I felt tingly inside my tummy. Oh this was it! Butterflies in my stomach,
"I'm going to be very busy with school and I only have a few months till we graduate and the only free time I'll have would be when I meet up with Shawn, so I'm asking you to accompany me, he'll probably arrive late but no worries because we'll have all day to catch up and then meet him afterwards and that's if you're not busy," he said.

"I'll see what I can do," I said.
"Wait,sorry," he stopped me again.
"Can I call you in the meantime, like tonight maybe?" He asked.
"Call me anytime," I walked away.
"Before I got inside I turned to him and waved goodbye he replied with his cocky million dollar smile which I missed by the way.
Do you know that feeling you get when you feel like you did something great but you're not sure but in a way you feel relieved? I was feeling that way.

The party was great and I actually liked it. Mom was happy which made me happy. It was an adult responsible party which meant no mess just dishes and glasses. Q and I did the dishes and went upstairs to study but not after updating her about Alex.
"Goodnighty," Q switched off the lights.
"Goodnight," I closed my eyes.

My eyes shot open as I heard my pillow vibrating. It was an incoming call from Alex and it was almost midnight.
"Hello," I yawned.
"Hey, how are you?" He asked.
"I'm sleeping and you?" I asked.
"Yeah me too," he said.
"Wait what!?" I sat up.
"Huh?" He sighed.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I was asleep a few minutes ago," he said.

"You! Sleeping?" I asked.
"I never sleep do I?" He asked.
"Yeah, you have insomnia," I said.
"Mom always-" I cut him off.
"Said you needed a bedtime story," I finished for him.
"Exactly, I guess it's the meds I'm taking," he said.
"Then why did you wake up?" I asked.
"I had a bad dream," he said.
"Oh, sorry about that," I apologized.
"It's okay, it was about my mom, I'm really worried about her," he said.

"I'm sorry Alex," I said.
"That's why I hate sleeping," he exhaled.
"How can I help?" I asked.
"Keep me awake," he said.
"No,no," I refused.
"Please help me," he begged.
"How can I keep you awake?" I asked.
"Tell me something, anything that can make me open my eyes open this instant," he said.
"I don't know maybe you should rest," I suggested.
