i haven't seen millie since the morning.
if she gave me enough time to explain why, she would've understood.
sadie isn't and will never be anything more than a friend.
i walked tried to walk past gaten as i entered our dorm but he stopped me.
"are you pleased with yourself?" he said as he crossed his arms
i furrowed my brows, "what do you mean?"
"millie stopped by and told me to tell you that she's dropping out."
"w-what," i stuttered
"millies. dropping. out." he said slowly

i honestly couldn't wrap my head around the whole situation.
it was all too sudden and unreal.
i walked through the frigid air to millie's dorm building.
i had tried calling but it sent me straight to voicemail.
i walked in and went straight to her door.
i hesitated before knocking.
"be right there," i heard millie's muffled voice from the other side
i saw the doorknob jiggle and open, once i saw her, i tried my best not to break down into tears.
her hair was ruffled and her eyes were tear-soaked and red.
she started to close the door but i put my foot between the door and the wall.
"let me explain."
she loosened her grip on the door and opened it.
i walked in and sat down on the edge of her bed.
"listen i know what you saw and it wasn't what it looked like," i said
she didn't reply.
"i was meeting up with her to dicuss my surprise for you.." i paused, "i was going to sing you a song. and i know it sounds cheesy and believe me, i know it is, but i thought since you love music, i would give it a try."
"oh," she said lightly
"yeah, but now your dropping out?" i said louder
"not really," she took a deep breath, "i lied."
i looked at the ground then back up at her, "seriously?"
"yes, i'm sorry, it was stupid and it probably just costed my relationship with you."
i shook my head, stood up and put my hands on her shoulders, "no, we've both done stupid things, but that's only because we loved each other, and no one will stop me from loving you."
"what is love, finn?" she asked softly
"love is unexplainable, but one day, i will know."
she pressed her lips against mine and in that moment i knew everything was right.
