She could feel her lungs gasping for air as she tried to block the voice in her head from creating any more anxiety. Everything was moving so fast, faster than her mind could keep up and she began humming under her breath and seemed to hear her voice from miles away. Things sounded too loud, too 'up in her face' and she needed it to stop. She had realised that panic was slowly creeping up into her veins, contaminating the blood that pumped through her body and she needed it to stop. She desired freedom so much that it hurt, it burned her body, it made her eyes sting from tears and she wanted to give up, she wanted to say "stop". But her body wouldn't let her.

It was addicted to the adrenaline but it also hurt her, it was pleasure and pain, like a drug and she needed to get off it. Her breathing sped up and as she placed her fingers on her erratic pulse she knew that it was only seconds before she would crack, before she would become irreparable.
