Alexander Hamilton's POV
I made a new friend on campus today. She seemed nice. She was a strong woman, very independent and witty. Her name is Angelica Schuyler. She's a Schuyler Sister of course, belonging to one of the wealthiest a families in New York State. Tonight she introduced me to her other sisters, Elizabeth and Margarita. They prefer to be called Eliza and Peggy. Eliza is a very beautiful girl. She's my age, and her dark brown eyes fill my heart with something I've never felt before. Peggy's fun to hang with. She's gigging and bubbly. Her giggle is very sweet, but Eliza is the Schuyler I seem most interested in. It's been a few weeks since Angelica introduced me to her sisters. She seems a bit jealous that I'm now spending more time with Eliza than her, but there's just something about Eliza that I love.
I walked down the campus, passing a few students along the way. My coffee machine broke so I had to go to a local café near my dorm. I put on my favourite navy blue hoodie and some baggy tan coloured pants with my dark brown hair in a messy, loose ponytail. I had my laptop back around my shoulder. It was kinda broken because I've had it for so long, but as long as it can keep holding my computer it was just fine for me. On my nineteenth birthday my Professor got me a new laptop, since my old one was almost ancient. I hate to admit it, but he's like a father to me. My father left when I was ten, and my mother died two years later.
I walk into the café, the little bell rang it's high pitched sound. There were a few people in here, all of them students either on their phones or laptops. There were two baristas at the counter, a very tall man with his black, frizzy hair tied back into a bun, and a much shorter man, maybe only a few inches taller than me, who had beautiful freckles dotting all over his caramel skin. His brown hair was curly and tied in a ponytail, and he was laughing alongside the other barista. I walked over to the counter.
"Hello, what can I get for you?" The shorter man asked nicely.
"I'll just have a coffee please." I said shortly. The man nodded.
"Would you like any milk, cream, sugar?" He asked while holding the coffee cup under the machine, the dark almost black fluid pouring into the cup.
"No thank you." I told him briskly. He nodded again and pulled the coffee cup away from the machine. He put a brown lid on the white cup and smiled cutely at me. I smiled back. I sat down at a barstool that was facing the window and pulled my laptop out of my bag. I began typing away, my fingers moving almost faster than my brain. I took a few sips of coffee ever so often. I heard the bell ring and saw as the taller man was opening the door, he glanced quickly at me to the shorter man still at the counter and slid a small piece of paper over to me. It had a phone number on it. I looked at him and he smiled, pointing at the shorter man behind the counter who wasn't paying attention. I flushed, and the taller man winked at me. He was trying to set me up with someone I didn't know. I grunted and turned back to my screen. The freckled man was cute, but I thought I liked Eliza. I just wanted to leave this coffee shop which now felt warmer than before, so I picked up and laptop and plopped it in my bag. I grabbed the coffee and left the café, the bell ringing behind me. I saw the taller man walking down the street, and decided to catch up to him.
"Hey! Hey! Why'd you give me this phone number?" I called, chasing after him. He turned around.
"It's like a superpower, I can always tell if some people is meant for each other." He chuckled.
I looked at him. "Who are you anyways." I grunted.
"Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, but you can just call me Lafayette. And you."
"My name is Alexander Hamilton."
Lafayette smiled. We continued walking, heading in the same direction and chatting. Eventually we had to part. He seemed nice. I swung open the door to my dorm. My roommate was making out with his boyfriend on the couch. Again.
"Charles do you mind?" I snapped at him.
"Nope." He smirked, still making out with his boyfriend, Samuel Seabury. Samuel was much smaller than him. He was kinda shy, but I heard he's good at speeches and public speaking. Charles Lee on the other hand was probably the worst roommate ever. He was arrogant, rude, obnoxious and always through parties. I've known him since high school, and he hasn't changed one bit.
I grunted and sighed, walking down the short hall to my bedroom. I shut the door beside me and flopped down on my bed. My phone began to buzz and ring.
Caller ID: Eliza <3
I immediately answered. Eliza and I have gone on one date so far. She's beautiful. Her long dark brown, almost black hair. Her dark eyes, her pale skin. Her sweet, soothing voice. Everything about her to me was perfect.
"Hey 'Liza." I smiled saying her name. "How were classes?"
"They were good. I missed last class so I had to borrow Theo's notes. What about you, don't you have classes later?"
"Yeah, but that's not until-" I was cut off my a crashing sound.
"Eliza I'll have to call you back." I said blandly and quite annoyed. I bet it was Charles.
I disconnected and barged out of my door to see Charles and Samuel half naked on the floor, having a heated make out session.
"Jesus Christ dude, it's 11:00AM, couldn't you save this until I wasn't here at least?" I snarled, raising my voice. Samuel looked apologetic but his face turned a bright pink colour, since I had just walked in on then half naked, Charles pinning Samuel to the floor.
Charles snorted and rolled his eyes, helping Samuel up and grabbing his clothes. Samuel's face got even more red if that were even possible. I sighed and turned around, heading back to my room. I slammed the door shut and sighed.
Maybe I should call Lafayette's friends' number.
