[Amber Above]
'There once was a girl with Auburn hair and a twinkle in her eyes. As she grew, innocence was drove out of her. But...She stayed strong. That girl, was me...'

Amber smiled as she skipped into the school building, she went to her locker and grabbed all her materials and walked to her best friend Kendra's locker.

"Heyyyy bestie!"Amber said happily only to receive an eye roll and a slammed locker in return. "Kenz? What's wrong?" Amber asked, Kendra didn't reply as she walked away bitterly. Amber felt tears forming, what had she done to make her best friend so mad at her?

She walked to her first class of the day as the bell rang, ignoring the looks she got as her eyes turned red and puffy, even if she hadn't let a single tear out.

"Amber! What's wrong?" Madison asked, she was the slut of the school but Amber always treated her with respect and always stood up for her. Amber said nothing as she walked into class and sat in her assigned seat. Amber sat through First Period, trapped in her thoughts as she wrote a letter on a piece of paper, not listening to a word the teacher said.

As the bell rang she rushed out of the room, and to her next class in dread. On her way she saw Kendra talking to some of their closest friends. Angelina, the preppy and sassy bundle of sarcasm friend. Beverly, the hot, sarcastic, dim witted friend. Rose, The athletic, short tempered, sassy, sarcastic, klutz, friend. She walked past them to get to Science. Angelina noticed how she didn't stop by to say Hi and hoped they had an amazing day. Beverly sensed something was wrong with her, Rose was talking with Kendra, not noticing.

Amber sat down in her desk and paid no attention to the popular girls commenting on her looks. "Oh my god, look at her face. She's wearing no makeup, it's disgusting" "Ew! She's wearing video game shirts!" "OMG! Look at her stomach! She's so fat!"

Amber bit back tears as she had no one to help fight her battles anymore. As the time ticked on, she copied her notes in agony.

When the bell finally rang she sprang from her seat and rushed out of the classroom, she walked to the library as everyone else walked to the gym. Amber was the librarian's teacher assistant, she helped her around the library and in return, no PE.

"Oh, Amber! There you are sweetie!" Miss Snow said with a smile. "Dear, have you been crying?" Miss Snow asked, looking at Ambers face sadly. Amber shook her head no. "No ma'm." Amber whispered quietly. Usually Amber would be discussing her favorite books with Miss Snow, but she didn't feel up to it. Miss Snow sighed and nodded softly. "Okay then, can you go put these books back on the shelf for me please?" Miss Snow asked as she pushed a cart full of books that were just checked back in to Amber. Amber nodded and took the cart over to the shelves and put the books back in their places, even taking the books that where shelved incorrectly to their rightful place.

-Hours Later-

As the final bell rang, Amber was out of the classroom and at her locker, grabbing her bag and slammed the locker door shut. Almost immediately going to her bus room after. She sat in a desk and pulled out her phone and placed her earbuds in as she saw all her friends walk past the room smiling and laughing. She felt arms around her, she turned to see her cousin Jordan hugging her. She then felt the tears she's been hiding falling down her face.

"It's okay Bear. Mojo is here"Jordan whispered to her as he took an earbud out of her ear. She wiped away her tears and hugged him back. "Thank you Jordan. But I'm okay" Amber whispered back a lie and got out of his grip. They called for bus wave 2 right as she needed it and she walked out of the room. She walked to the bus stop and sat on a bench, ignoring everyone around as she listened to Christina Perri's voice, wanting to dull the pain. She couldn't believe she lost her soul sister. She didn't do anything to her knowledge that would upset her.

The bus pulled up and she quickly got on and sat in the first seat like she always did, dreading when she got home.

Amber quickly went down the bus steps and ran to her home quickly, wanting to dodge the view of Kendra walking home. She ran into her empty house and closed the door. She leaned against the door and dragged her back down as she started to cry. She let out all the sadness she's been hiding ever since she was 10, when her mother died. She cried out all her sadness until she was empty inside. She stood up and ran to her room and pulled her curtains over the window so no one could look in. She took a shaky breath.

"How could you Kendra" Amber whispered. "How could you break what's already been broken?"
