'Be kind, work hard, stay humble, smile often, keep honest, stay loyal, travel when possible, never stop learning, be thankful always and love.'

Clarke lived by this quotation always doing to make others and herself happy, she was more than thankful for her upbringing she had everything she needed and never wanted for anything but now all she needed was answers, answers to one specific question.

At 24 years old when she should have been as happy as anything for her mother who had just given birth to her baby brother Aden Griffin, he was perfect everything she had wished for her whole life but what she had over heard during her mother's labour was something she wished she'd never heard, her mother the women she looked up the women she loved with everything she had had just revealed to the midwife that in fact just over 24 years ago she had given birth to not only one baby but twin girls, Clarke couldn't even concentrate on anything.
For gods sake she has just found out she had a twin sister, she didn't know if she was alive, dead or what and the worst part was was that her whole life she asked her mother for a brother or sister while her mother just blatantly lied to her and to top it off her mother didn't even know her daughter knew yet.

The one person Clarke knew would know the truth was her father Jake Griffin no he was not her father by blood but he had been there her whole life and he was more of a father to her than she thought he real father could be, as Jake cradled his new baby in his arms the look of love in his eyes was something Clarke was used to seeing it was the way he looked at her all the time, she thought that now he had his own child it would be different but it wasn't it was the same the same look of love and admiration in his eyes.

It was like Clarke was there but she really wasn't and she needed to get out of there as soon as possible she looked around as more thoughts clouded her mind and she abruptly stood her chair scraping on the clean hospital floor, she gave the baby in her fathers arms a kiss on the forehead and left.
She was sure she sat in her car in the parking lot of over an hour racking her brain of how she had managed to miss this her whole life, there must have been clues somewhere and that's when she remembered the box, the box she was forbidden to touch she knew it must have contained the secrets of her life.

She got to her mother's house not long after and searched the house finding the box in the back of the wardrobe, she didn't know if she should open, smash it to pieces or just leave it cause she had gotten this far with out this twin of hers, but at the same time this girl was part of Clarke a part she knew knew existed. A part she wanted to know.

Clarke had some how managed to make it back to her apartment the box in her hands still unopened but it wasn't to stay that way for long.
It was an old shoe box tattered at the edges and the lid was starting to fall apart but she knew she needed to see inside it, she wanted to in fact, she lifted the lid revealing photos Clarke had always assumed were her newborn self but now she knew it was her 'twin' she looked through the pictures of the baby that looked identical to her baby photos there were no words written on the backs of the photographs nothing but the printed date of development which was the week after their birth. The last objects in the box were a note of paper along with one photograph turned so the picture faced the bottom of the box and the the note along side it read
BabyA on the left born 5lb4 BabyB on the right born 5lb2
As she turned the picture over two babies laid side by side holding each other's tiny hands, and Clarke broke how could your own mother not tell you about this, how could she live those 24 years not seeing or mentioning that other daughter of hers? Clarke needed all the answers but couldn't do anything as she sat against the wall her legs pulled up to her chest as she stared at the one picture of her and her twin, her eyes feeling heavy with sleep and her head clouded with everything and nothing at the same time.
