Lauren POV-

I laughed as Lisa ran towards the kitchen, jumping up and down as her food burned the inside of her mouth. Water dribbled down her perfectly sculpted jawline as she chugged it down, her face visibly relaxing. She stuck her tongue out at me and said,

"Why didn't you tell me that the pesto was HOT you little rat?"

I giggled as Lisa continued,

"You're lucky that you're the cutest rat ever, or else I would have killed you by now."

My cheeks warmed as she spoke, her flirty tone making me blush. We had been dating for almost a year now and she still managed to make me smile like an idiot whenever words came out of her mouth. Lisa's mouth curled into a devious smile as she said,

" So, Ladybug, do you have any plans tonight?"

I played with my fingers as I said,

"Actually, I thought we were just going to stay in bed, wearing pajamas, and watch the O.C."

Lise had a grin on her face, and I knew she was up to something. She smiled slyly and said,

"I have an idea, but I know that you're not going to come if I tell you what it is. So go get ready and we'll go. Just trust me."

I pouted. If Lisa wasn't going to tell me, then I knew for sure that I wasn't going to like it. I stuck my tongue out at her and said,

"I'm not going and you can't make me."

Lisa ran over to me and grabbed my waist. She picked me up and threw me over her shoulder. I laughed like a maniac, the curly strands of my hair tickling my own nose. She laughed and said,

"Wow, these boxing classes are really helping. And Ladybug, you are going to go if its the last thing I do. I need to break your antisocialness"

I giggled and said,

"First of all, antisocialness is not a word. Second of all, I don't want to go because I hate people. And third of all.... wait I don't have a third of all."

Lisa laughed, and my insides exploded with happiness. Her face erupted into a vision of jovialness, and her eyes crinkled with laughter. I pressed my lips against her ears and whispered,

"You make me feel all sorts of happiness I didn't even know existed."

She smiled even harder and threw me softly onto the bed. She crawled up next to me and said,

"Now get ready. You trust me, right?"

I nodded. I trusted Lisa more than I trusted myself. She left my room, closing the door behind her. I scanned my closet, looking for an outfit. I threw on a gray-white sweater and a pair of distressed, high waisted jeans. I combed through my hair with my fingers, feeling the soft, curly hairs encircle my hands. I glanced longingly at my makeup bag, wanting to put it on but knowing I was too lazy.

I sprang out of my room, overcome by a burst of energy. Maybe the place Lisa was taking me wouldn't require me to use my non existent social skills. Lisa walked out of her room, smiling as she saw me. She sported a red flannel, that made her tan, muscular skin capture more than it's fair share of sunlight. Her leggings hugged the shape of her legs, and her bright lipstick attracted more attention towards her perfect, even rows of bright white teeth.

Lisa grabbed the keys and took my hand. She led me towards the car, pulling me as though she was three years old and I was her little wagon. I sat in the passenger seat of the car and watched as the house appeared smaller and smaller the further we drove away. I sat back on the leather seat and said,

"So are you going to tell me where we're going?"

Lisa laughed and said,

"What fun would that be? Don't worry, it's only five minutes away."

I sighed. I was an impatient person, and Lisa knew it. I tapped my foot, as if that would make her drive any faster. She pulled up into a parking lot. The building itself was brown and looked very innovative. We were walking towards the door when I spotted a sign outside the building.

KAROKE NIGHT AT THE OAKWOOD CAFE

I pulled away from Lisa's hand in fear. She was going to make me sing in front of all those people. Lisa, knowing this was coming, grabbed me and pulled me inside. She rubbed my back as she said,

"Ladybug, listen to me. I would never make you do anything you were uncomfortable with if I knew it was bad for you. But you need this. You're so amazingly talented, and I want the rest of the world to hear it. Please? Just this one time? For me?"

I sighed. My heart said yes, but my brain said no. But Lisa's encouraging face looked at me in a hopeful state, so I walked inside. My pupils dilated as they adjusted to the cafe's dim lighting. I walked towards the back, determined to grab a seat before the announcer in the front could spot me and lure me to the front.

All of a sudden, a bright light hit my face and I winced. I looked around, noticing that the bright light encircled me and me alone. The realization hit me. It was the spotlight. And the spotlight meant that you were the next one to go on stage. I wanted to run, but the small, brave part of me took over. I walked towards the stage, my knees weak and shaking. I sat on the stool, and pitifully looked up at the announcer. In the typical announcer voice, he said,

"Okay, this rounds theme is lovers. Are you ready miss? Audience, are you ready? Let's start then. Let's rollll the lyrics."

I gulped as I realized what was happening. Before I had time to run off stage, the lyrics started to pop on the screen. I recognized the song by the first note. It was our song. I closed my eyes, my body relaxing as I imagined Lisa's smiling face. I sang,

I met you in the dark, you lit me up
My sunshine, my light
You made me feel as though I was enough
Tearing down my insecurities
We danced the night away, we drank too much
I'm my happiest with you
I held your hair back when
I'll be there for you Lisa
You were throwing up
Even when you're not at your best
Then you smiled over your shoulder
The brightest smile in the universe
For a minute, I was stone-cold sober
Your existence brings me to reality
I pulled you closer to my chest
The reality that you're all mine
And you asked me to stay over
I'll never leave
I said, I already told ya
So you'll never have to ask me to stay
I think that you should get some rest
Your well being is my well being
I knew I loved you then
You showed me how much
But you'd never know
I could love a person
'Cause I played it cool when I was scared of letting go
You promise youll never leave me
I know I needed you
I need you
But I never showed
You're part of me
But I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old
I love you inside out
Just say you won't let go
I love you
Just say you won't let go
More than you'll ever know
