CHAPTER 72: Guarding The Food

Start from the beginning

[T/N: [1] Weibo is a very popular Chinese online platform. Almost like Facebook.]

Chi Cheng picked up a corn and continued eating and nibbling. He abruptly remembered something, and pulled out his mobile phone.

After Wu Suo Wei had sent the corn to Chi Cheng, he went to the breeding house because snakes need plenty of space when they lay eggs. Hence, he had rented another two rooms. He finally finished his job after tidying the rooms for more than three hours. He wiped away his sweat as he walked out and couldn't help but to sigh: You really can't sit around too much! When you're being sedentary for too long, the body becomes lazier, and the whole body will ache even with some light activity.

Whilst he was mulling over it, he saw that Chi Cheng was calling him.

"I'm drop dead tired today" Wu Suo Wei's voice was lethargic.

Chi Cheng's face revealed a smiling expression, "Someone else was doing all the hard work but you're complaining about being tired?"

"Who said that?!" Sound of gritting teeth could be heard, "I did a lot of work."

"What were you doing?" Chi Cheng asked.

"I was preparing two new snake houses, and attending to the [2] snake grandpa, oh, no, snake grandma! When snakes are gestating, their temper is really bad. When I was moving it, it even bit me, but fortunately it wasn't poisonous......"

[T/N: [2] It won't make sense in English lmao. First is grandpa because it's a matured snake but then he changed to grandma because it's female and well...the temper is like of old woman's lol.]

Previously Wu Suo Wei always had nothing to say to Chi Cheng. [3] A half an hour long telephone conversation would consist of a dead silence for 29 minutes, and the remaining one minute was filled with a few cough. Based on the few sentences uttered by Wu Suo Wei just now, Chi Cheng could hear his enthusiasm from his small talk.

[T/N: [3] 'A half hour long telephone conversation would consist of a dead silence for 29 minutes, the remaining one minute was filled with a few cough.' — means the 30 min long phone call is filled (29 minutes) with awkward silent and (1 minute) a few cough here and there to ease the awkwardness.]

"But something really fun happened. I thought snake eggs were spit out from its mouth, but it's not! It also has an asshole, and it becomes really large when it's laying eggs. Just one pop and it's out, hehehe......"

"You should learn how the snake does it," Chi Cheng's words implied something else.

"Get lost!"

Chi Cheng swallowed another bite of corn, and looked out the car window. It was unclear what he was thinking about.

Gang Zi stole a glance at Chi Cheng, and wondered. Recently Chi Cheng was really weird! He was known as the [4] king of hanging up, and didn't care if the other party had anything to say, so long as he said all that he needed to say then he'd just hang up immediately. Their circle of friends frequently teased him about it, saying that Chi Cheng's [5] speed for hanging up the telephone and his speed for ejaculating should be balanced. But it seemed that's not going to be a freaking [6] problem anymore since his phone would be busy nine times out of ten whenever Gang Zi called him these days.

[T/N: [4] Literally 'king of hanging up in a second' — means Chi Cheng's calls didn't even last one minute and he doesn't like to talk that much.

[5] His phone call last less than a minute while his happy time last for hours. Basically they are teasing about the huge differences between both durations, like heaven and earth.

[6] 'problem' refers to his habit of hanging up phone and doesn't like to have a phone call.]

But this was nothing. What really rendered Gang Zi speechless was that Chi Cheng actually spent so much time chatting these sort of thing; trivial issues! Wasn't he someone who most hated listening to these grumbles? Why would he take the initiative to call someone to listen to these things?

Whilst Gang Zi was mulling over it, Chi Cheng continued his conversation.

Wu Suo Wei was just about to curse him again, when Chi Cheng's deep voice rang out.

"It's going to rain tomorrow. Remember to bring an umbrella when you go out."

Wu Suo Wei was gapping his mouth as suddenly he didn't know what to say.

Anne's Rant:

To be very honest, I hate seeing my followers increase. No idea why. It makes me feel like my translations aren't exclusive to my supportive readers hahahha Guess some of us are lucky that wattpad doesn't have 'selected readers' option ( ¬_¬)

Anyway there's one bl audio I listened to recently and it's not that bad. If you understand Chinese then you can search it at Youtube. The title is 我的王妃是男人。[My Wife (Princess) Is A Man]  Err the first few parts (there are 5 audio parts) are funny and halfway through it changed to mpreg so...haha

Please note that some part might be incorrect as we don't know how to translate the slangs and idioms to English and translators might rely on the pinyin
