"Mommy, where are we?"
My Mother didn't answer. She tightened her hold on my hand, and sped through the dark alleys, dragging me behind her. The bitter wind blew against my face, and even with a coat and gloves, my lips still trembled from the cold and fear.
After trudging behind Mother for around five minutes in silence, Mother finally spoke.
"Almost there, darling. Hang on,"
I nodded in return, but I was sure she wouldn't see it in the darkness.
We rounded a corner, that led to an alley that was way darker than the others, and a lamppost was flickering in the corner. A man was leaning against it, the dimming light casting a light shadow against the man. Surrounding him were many glass bottles, either half-empty or empty.
Mother halted in her steps, and after a second of hesitation, she began to back-pedal, away from the dangerous-looking man.
We were just about to get away, when Mother knocked against another man, who was coming our way. He caught Mother in his arms, and nuzzled his head in her neck. I gasped and tried to pull Mother away as she struggled as well.
"Look who's here, James. Isn't this the Luna Jenna Gathod?" The man spoke, his voice raspy.
Seeing that the man wasn't going to let Mother go any moment, I bit on the man's arm. Hard. The man yelped in pain, and Mother took the chance to get away from him.
However, amidst the chaos, we had forgotten the other man, James, behind us. I screamed when James grabbed me in his muscular arms, and hugged me to his chest. He reeked of alcohol and junk. I struggled all my might, but he clamped one hand over my mouth, and began touching me in ways a gentleman should never do.
My Mother yelled James, and tried to break free of the man holding her.
"James! Do you want to start a war?" She screamed at James.
"A war with you and your little minions? No, I don't think so. I would prefer to spend some time with this little treat here. Jared, you take the Luna. She's got more experience, hmm?" James chuckled darkly, and ripped my coat off me.
Tears spilled over my eyes, and even though I was hurting, I could do nothing to stop the evil man from what he wants.
Through the corner of my eyes, I could see that Mother was at least doing a better job at resisting than me. She tore at the man, and with a howl, she turned into that big, white, doggie.
The big white doggie leapt away from the man's grasp, and growled threateningly at him. James had stopped in the process of tearing my pants off, and in an instance, he was metres away from me.
The big white doggie turned her head at James, and with lips trembling, James muttered. "You...you don't want to start a war...Jenna, your wolf is controlling you..."
With one last growl, the doggie leapt onto James, and with a snap of the teeth, James laid in a crumpled heap by the wall. I could detect the rusty smell of blood in the air.
"Grrrrr..." the doggie turned to the other man, who had cowardly crept to a darker corner.
With one step, two steps, three steps, the doggie stood in front of the man, sharp canines bared at him. Blood dripped onto the ground, and before I could see what was happening, I closed my eyes.
All I heard was yells of agony before silence.
Silence.

"Darling?"
I squeezed open my eyes, and blinked a couple of times. Mother was standing before me, but in another outfit as previously. She must have searched through the bags for another outfit.
"Mommy?"
She smiled, and brought me in for a hug. "Everything's okay now, darling. We're going back to daddy now."
I frowned. "Daddy? I don't want to go back to daddy. He's fierce."
Almost Everyday at night, Father would come and beat me up. I don't know why, but he would always say it was because I was naughty. That's why I always tried my best to be good.
"Darling...trust me, there are worst things out there than daddy."
With that, she led me back the way we came.
