What does that mean?

A few minuets later I looked back at my arm to see 4 letters:
hope

I smiled to myself and wrote:
Do u kno what hope stands 4

                  No

Smiling I wrote back:
Hold On, Pain Ends

I waited. And waited. My soulmate didn't write on her arm for the rest of the day.

Finally getting ready for bed I was just about to wash my side of the conversation off when another word appeared:
Sorry
Frowning I wrote back:
         Y
                      I didnt write back
I rolled my eyes.
         Can i ask y?
                    It was just personal stuff

Frowning I let it go and wrote
         U can tell me when ur ready
