the thing she was most anxious for.

she knew she did well,

but, klarissa had made memories here.

the good and bad,

the fun and boring.

despite what happened,

she still has a burning ache to never leave it.

but it is only high school.

"hey, klarissa! haven't seen you in a while."

she smiled at him,

but it wasn't fake.

"Benedict."

she nodded at him, feeling a little twinge in her chest.

"i'm sorry we haven't caught up, i just was a little busy."

"it's alright, i've been a little bit busy too."

she spots christian a mile away, heading in their direction.

"hey, klar? wanna sit down before the ceremony?"

she nodded, going over to his side.

"i'll see you soon, I guess."

ben just nodded.

her ceremony ended,

her name being called up, and her diploma being handed to her.

she scanned the crowd, looking for a familiar face,

but she found another.

he was smiling up at her, proud of his best friend.

she felt a little part of her heart pinch.

but she didn't mind it,

for she was happy with the person who wanted her from the start,

even if she didn't know that.
