It was getting close to winter, the weather becoming chillier and snow was due any moment now. The phones ringing outside were muted by the walls of the office. The blinds shut to block out people from peering inside as the woman at the desk stared at the spread out documents. Straightened dark brown hair cascaded down her shoulders, framing the soft contours of her face. The light from her windows illuminated the tense gaze as she briefly looked up to the knock on the wooden door. Without a word she pressed a button on her desk that made a soft buzzing sound, unlocking the door for the person to enter.

"What is this?" A sharp voice cuts through the once still and quiet air that reigned her office. The woman at the desk didn't even bother looking up from her paperwork. "Divorce papers. It says it on the front page." She replied coolly, reviewing a couple of documents. She could feel the anger slowly radiating throughout the room. "I know what the fuck it says–"

"Well, it certainly didn't seem like it." The woman states, grabbing her pen and signing off on a few papers. "Why the fuck am I being told to sign off on fucking divorce papers?!" The sharp voice raised an octave and the entire floor went silent. The atmosphere in the office seemed to become nearly as cold as the outside. The office's walls weren't exactly paper-thin, nor are they soundproof either. So it did take a loud enough scream to pierce through the solid wall and practically ring out through the department. "I come back from my conference in London and find this sitting right on top of my desk. What kind of sick joke is this?"

There's an eerie silence that fills the office. Cars and people yelling outside are the only noise and even those can't seem to break through the tense atmosphere. There's a low chuckle that fills the room, starting off very soft before it upped in volume and decreased in emotion. "You're kidding me, right?" The woman stated, finally looking up from her papers and those hazel eyes seemed to cut through any defense the other woman had. "You're actually genuinely surprised that this happened? That through all the business meetings overseas and lonely nights and even when you're here you're so fucking revolted by me that you stay in hotels. That you only come into our place when you feel like it. That you take me like some cheap whore and never bother staying until the morning."

She was livid. Underneath all the warm smiles and sugar sweet moments, she was hurting and had freshly run out of patience. "I've had enough of you. I know when I'm no longer wanted. Get out of my office before I have security escort you out." She snapped, tired of seeing her damn face. "You kicking me out? This is my company. Where you live is my home."

"If it's your home then why am I always the one in it? Why am I always the one taking care of it? Why am I the one sleeping in the bed that we're supposed to be sharing together? Why were you never home to take care of me when I was sick? Why were you never there for me when I needed you the most? Why..." She started almost screaming at the top of her lungs, fury dripping from her venomous words. However, she restrained herself, shaking her head and ran a hand through her hair. "Aurora-" She heard the other woman call her name and she shook her head again. "Get out. Just get out of my office. Take those papers and leave." Her voice, once loud and powerful was nothing but a hushed command. She couldn't bring herself to look up at her and yet the other woman, tall and proud didn't want to back down from this. She didn't want to lose her. She was all she had, all she ever needed. Aurora was the only woman that would ever keep her grounded. "Aurora let's talk about this. This is so sudden, so unpractical of you." She tried to reason with her but Aurora wasn't having any of it. "There's nothing to talk about Rosalie. It's not unpractical, it's been a long time coming. Leave before I get security." She says, done with talking and arguing.

She wasn't going to be doing this in the office, or even at home. She didn't want to talk about what made her do this. She didn't want to argue only to end up in the same position over and over again. At the door unlocking and the light sound of it opening, she didn't release the breath she had been holding until the door closed once again. The day only started and she was already feeling the anxiety from her marriage. It was bad enough with the thoughts of infidelity. It was bad enough thinking that she had another life outside of the city. It was enough with the thoughts and the false beliefs of things of that nature and that Rosalie was happier elsewhere. Aurora knew that she wasn't one for grand gestures and the young woman certainly wasn't asking for any. However, it wasn't a lot to ask that she just come home. That she tells her about her day and the tedious meetings and actually sits down with her. Not barely coming home and only showing up when it's convenient to her.

Aurora heard another knock on the door and pressed the button again, this time it was her assistant, Ava Solpra. The short blonde nervously peeked in, wide brown eyes looking at her. Aurora beckoned her to come in and close the door. She watched the shorter woman follow her instructions and walk up to her desk. "Ms. Aurora, are you okay?" She asked, looking over at her. Worry showed very clearly, even when the brunette tried to brush off the unwanted concern. "I'm alright. Please let me know when my meeting with the Director is and push back my audience with the press when the news leaks out. I will not be commenting on this." She says, getting back to organizing her desk. "Your meeting with the Director is after lunch. You also have a meeting with your client Mr. Dandel coming up at 10." She replied, making note of her wishes with the press.

There was a soft sigh that resounded from the other woman as she slowly nodded. "Alright, is that all?" She asked looking up at the slightly nervous woman. Ava nodded quickly, looking back at her board. "Y-yes... You do have a busy afternoon today though." She says, stumbling over her words a bit. Aurora hummed as she went back to looking through papers, clipping some together and getting up from her large seat. She walked over the wall on her right and grabbed a folder from the shelf. Filing the combined documents together she then turned to her assistant who was waiting for further instructions. "Ava." She called for the woman's attention and those wide brown eyes were on her in a heartbeat. She smiled softly, something that felt entirely too foreign after what had nearly just happened. "Thank you for coming to check-up on me. Please make sure that what happened earlier is not repeated outside of this building." She says and the assistant nodded with a small smile. "Of course Ms. Aurora. I'll see to it."

After the smaller woman left, the taller brunette walked over to the large window and looked out into the city. Watching the cars go by and the morning finally settles into the day, she let out a soft sigh. Today was going to be a very eventful day.
