Chapter 1:The day everything changed

2:45.You look down at your watch as you read the time 15 more minutes time to wrap it up you think to yourself. You break your run into a light jog and slowly to a full stop.You sling your now heavy bag over your shoulders causing it to slump to the ground.You open it up and see everything you've collected today.Dang you think as you see that luck wasn't on your side this time.You quickly sort through everything throwing the trash over your shoulder to be forgotten.Once you finish your bag is significantly lighter. All you left was:6 cans of beans,1 Winter coat,4 loads of ammo,and a dull knife.You zip up your bag and begin your walk home.You stay on the street instead of on top if the buildings since you don't see many people around.You get lost in your thoughts on your way home so when you hear a sudden BANG you jump and look around.A sense of fear fills you when you don't know where you are.You look around for a minute trying to get some what of an idea of where you are.After identifying some familiar buildings you turn a corner trying to get back on the right path,gripping your gun tightly.But what you see around the corner makes you freeze.

You see a girl lying on the floor blood oozooing from her side you see her barley awake fighting to stay awake.You and her lock eyes and she franticly looks up and you follow her eyes and see 4 other girls in a corner tied guns pointed at there heads by men.You immideatly duck back the way you came to avoid getting seen.Thoughts rush through your head as you take in the situation what should I do? Should I help them? They could have some good loot on them. I could just kill all them. As the last thought enters your head your grip tightens on your 44.magnum turning your knuckles white.You quickly bring it out and check to make sure its fully loaded.you breath a sigh of relief as you see a fully loaded gun your hands. You breath and count to ten 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10 on ten you rush behind the coner and say "Freeze and put your guns down"You hope they don't notice the fear in your voice.The men just slowly turn and look up and down.One of them lets out a sniker and says"what are ya gonna do if we don't"Your face immideatly turns into anger.You hate when people test you. You let out a snarl and say"Why don't you come and find out"A smirk playing at your lips.Then men immediately frown and charge you guns raised.Suddenly everything slows down as you quickly take in your situation you see the 5 guys running toward you weapons raised.You see the girls in the coner of your eye rushing toward there injured friend.You see the first guy coming in for a punchwl with his right hand you see two guys behind him with guns raised fingers on the trigger and you see another 2 guys coming with baseball bats wrapped in barbed wire instead of their guns.And just like that time returns to normal you side step to the left away from the guy and punch him in the jaw sending him sprawling to the ground.You leap and roll to the side as you hear 2 gun shots fill the air.You whip out your gun and bring the two guys down quickly adding 2 more gunshots to the air.The other two still charge at you with their baseball bats raised ready to swing.Wanting to get rid of them quickly you risk adding 2 more gun shots in the air. You turn and see the girls.You assume one them got out of their ties cause all of their ropes are on the ground. You see them huddled around your friend muttering words like its gonna be ok,Stay with us,We can't lose you. Your heart aches at the sudden sight as memories try to flood your mind.you push them back and say "I can help your friend" The girls tense up and turn apparently they forgot about you. You approch them but they flinch back.you stop and then slowly approach them.You kneel down next to them and look at the damage done on the girl you see blood coming from her wound and you know that she needs to be treated or else shell die.But then you think to how low your supply already is. But your mothers words enter your mind Remeber although the world is heartless and ruthless.Don't be like them change the world to what it once was. You put your hand on the edge of her shirt you look at one of the girls for approval before riding her shirt up to see the full damage, you see the enter point of the bullet but you turn her over and see no exit point.You hear the girls gasp but you don't say anything.You gentle pick her up and carry her bridal style.You turn around and say"Follow me"The girls look at each other and then at you and quickly follow behind you.After a moment of silence you hear one of the girls say "Can you really save her?" You look at her and you see desperation and hope in her eyes.you look ahead saying"I can't promise anything but I will try my hardest."You glance at her and see the hope in her eyes expand.You can't help but smile.
