I awoke to the sound of screams coming from down the hallway, echoing frustration and anger through muffled exclaims. My eyes were blurry and I felt dazed at first, but as I slowly gained conciseness I sat up from my bed and flicked on the dull lamp on the bed stand. What the hell was going on? My first instinct was rush outside and find out, but then I remembered. I can't leave this room. Not until Negan says so at least.

The way his name brought shivers down my spine made me feel sick to the pit of my stomach. The hollering became background noise as the thought of Negan rattled through my brain with fear pulsating through my veins. I'd never felt such terror for someone ever in my life. You see, I was trapped in this place because of him. We were trapped here, remaining prisoners under his watchful eye. Just earlier today, my brother and I were roaming around the thick woods with our fear only lying with the dead. How naïve we were or more specifically I was. All I wanted was to protect my younger brother Tommy, but I was blind sighted with the real danger lurking around the corner, ready to take our freedom away from us. We weren't doing or harming anyone, we were just simply surviving, searching for some kind of redemption.

For our whole lives, it was always just my brother and I. We were inseparable, and how carelessly I thought nothing could stop that, not even the world coming to an end. I had taken care of my brother for my whole life so the apocalypse didn't tear that bond apart at first, but of course something came our way to ruin it. We believed we never needed a group as it had always just us two, even before everything went to shit. We'd been through so much that I felt we were kind of invincible, despite how ridiculous that sounds. I still stand by that, but sitting here in this cold, dingy room, I feel completely hopeless. Broken. All because of that son of a bitch, Negan.

His men found us out in the woods and left no mercy, despite us pleading that we weren't looking for any trouble. Hell we didn't even know we were anywhere near their compound. They just looked down upon us with stony expressionless faces like we were just talking to a brick wall. No matter how many times I begged, they just stood there, watching me gradually lose my will to defend my brother and I. They tied us up and dragged us to their site, repeatedly teasing us with predictions on how 'boss man' would react to us being so close to his camp. I had no clue who 'boss man' was, but judging by the way they spoke about him, I could only presume he wasn't too friendly to outsiders.

As we reached the gates, I glared at the man who was laughing at the fear painted over mine and Tommy's face. That didn't go unnoticed, as he violently pushed us through, purposely jabbing at my waist. I winced in pain, resentment planted at the tip of my tongue, but I thought it'd be wise not to speak up just yet at least for I didn't want to provoke any further viciousness.

I kept my eyes to the floor, trying to block out my surroundings and focus upon staying calm. So much anger was boiled inside me but I had to keep moving. Every now I then I glanced to my brother, trying to reassure him the best way I could through my eyes. Tommy was frozen with fear but that didn't stop him responding with an unconvincing smile to let me know he was still determined to get through with whatever laid ahead of us.

As we turned around a corner of complex corridors, we were pulled back to a halt.

"We'll take them from here."

I recognised that voice being the same one that was tormenting my brother and I on our journey over here. I heard footsteps shuffle away and we we're pushed forward, indicating to carry on walking. There were just two men now taking us to, I presumed, 'boss man'. Unease creped all over my body. I knew we were close. These two men must be the ringleaders of some sort. That was the only conclusion I could think as to why only two remained, escorting us to this mystery man. My heart started to pulsate quicker and my breathing rapidly sped up. I was terrified. Before I could calm myself down again, we came to a wooden door. The man behind me nudged me out of the way and knocked heavily onto the door. Shit shit shit shit. I clasped my fists tightly and prepared for whatever lay on the other side of the door.

"Come in."

The voice was gruff, deep and menacing. The door creaked open and we were shoved in. Guess it was time to meet 'boss man.'
