my shift is over but i sit down waiting for the next worker to come in before i leave
my coworker arrives and i put on my sweater grabbing my keys in one hand
and a to-go cup of tea in the other
as i begin to walk out i feel like i should stay, but i don't remember the reason as to why.
but i decide to just walk back home anyway
as i am walking down the sidewalk i hear someone call my name.
'youngjae! wait!'
i turn around and see the man from earlier running towards me.
he finally approaches me panting slightly
his puffs of breath visable in the crisp evening air
'i told you i would come back didn't i?'
it clicks
that's why i felt i should've stayed it's funny how i forgot so easily
'shall we?'
