Scene 1- Meadow- There is a dark atmosphere about and the clouds and dark and foreboding, deer are grazing peacefully, one deer looks up and listens as an indistinct cry is heard from afar. The deer then bolts. It begins to rain.
Scene 2- (Baker Street outside it is raining, camera slowly moves towards the window giving a clear view inside. John is reading a newspaper and Sherlock is studying a petridish)
John: I still don't understand why you hate him.
Sherlock: Who?
John: (Muttering) Why do I ever ask. (Normal) Mycroft.
Sherlock: (Distracted) Why don't you ask him, seeing as you spend so much time with him.
John: Why he tells me the same thing. Every time.
Sherlock mutters something incoherently
John shakes head
Scene 3
Mycroft and John eating in a chip shop, Mycroft has finished eating what looks like a salad and John is digging into a half eaten cod. Mycroft is looking on longingly.
John: Did you hear about the thing up in the New Forest?
Mycroft: Oh yes, the suspected murder. I can't say I wasn't interested but one has other things to consider, national security springs to mind.
(John nods slowly, whilst chewing)
Mycroft: I've got enough trouble with the Chinese at the moment without worrying about things that, frankly, even Sherlock could solve. (Pause thoughtfully) Did he find it (Pause again as if finding the right words) up to his standards?
John: He wasn't all that bothered, to be blunt. I presume he has some system about working out worthwhile cases but I'm surprised he didn't like the sound of this one. What with the death and all that. I'd say he was squeamish but it's Sherlock.
Mycroft: I don't know, he has fewer qualms with the world than he has dislikes. It always was fun to see him in the garden.
John: I'm not sure if you're aware of all the problems he has with the world but I'll take your word for it.
Mycroft: (Snapping) You'll have to because Sherlock, isn't one to share.
John: (Taken aback) ok ok ok. How's the redecorating going? What were you doing last, I think it was the kitchen wasn't it.
Mycroft: It's going well but the time it's taking is extortionate. I'm a senior member of the British government, and I still have to wait two weeks for the fire place and it's such a mess.
John: I sympathise entirely with the waiting for everything to be tidied, Sherlock's got stuff everywhere. Still. God only knows what he was like at uni with his room mate.
Mycroft: He was quite tidy most of the time an if he wasn't then let us just say, things got ugly.
John: So you shared a room then- is that why you hate each other. Did he beat you on an assignment?
Mycroft: (Chuckling) Sherlock beat me on assignment, I think you're confused Dr Watson. I always beat him, apart from that time in second, he never would shut up about that and it was unfair. I was ill.
John: What with?
Mycroft: Oh just Brucellosis. Took me three months to get over it.
John: How on Earth did you get that you weren't near any infected animals are you or just unlucky with the milk you picked up?
Mycroft: When I got out of bed I locked Sherlock in his room for a week because he'd brought a small sample of the stuff back from a lab. 'For testing.'
John: No wonder you hate him. Brucellosis is terrible. I've not met anyone with it before, had to research and learn about it though when I went to the front.
Mycroft: I can't think why you did... I'll have a word with Devorn see if he'll sort out the system. Although I am glad it could be treated. We'd be on world war 5 now I think!
John: Devorn? You mean.
Mycroft: (cut off) Yes yes. Old family friend. He and Sherlock never got on. Can't think why.
John: Yeah well you know, he hates you so Devorn would be a no go to friends.
Mycroft: You're right we disliked each other, though I think we both care really, but it's just stupid. Also, never forget I don't have friends.
John: (Pressing) What's stupid? Did he break your microscope?
Mycroft: Yes but it doesn't matter and now I must go. (Flourishes umbrella) Goodbye Dr Watson..
