We sat there in silence as I picked at my finger nails. I slightly turned my head to the lonely, little girl. I gulped and managed to whisper softly,

"So, what's your name?"

That was all I could say really. She wouldn't understand if I explained who I am. I heard her, breathing heavily and fast. She seemed to have been running from something, though she did mention 'Nasty Man'... I waited impatiently for a sudden reply but no sound came out of her wrinkled mouth except for the heavy breathing. Eventually, her chocolate-brown eyes beamed at me as she said, whimpering,

"I'm a Jew. I lived with mummy, daddy and my sister. But, I can't find them anywhere anymore."

A solemn look slapped onto my face when I heard the painful words come out of that brave child's mouth. Jew? In the middle of Germany?! I actually felt the worries of the child take over me as I felt a resemblance connect us together. I'm a Jew. In the middle of Germany! But the reason I was here was searching for stuff. I wanted her to feel safe as she dropped her head into her cold, shaky hands and I carelessly spoke,

"It's okay, I'm a Jew too. How old are you? Why are you here?" I stopped talking when I had realised I was asking too much.

Before she could answer, I felt her freezing hand slam against my trap as she mouthed 'Shhh'. She did the same on herself but not so fiercely.
