EXT. ROADSIDE - NIGHT

In the end, Jack throws dirt and stones from the road into the bog until the donkey can gain its footing and pull itself back out onto hard ground.

Finally, muddy and dripping, the donkey stands before him.

JACK. I hope the grass was worth it. There you are. Now it's time for me to get going. Goodbye.

Jack begins to walk away. After a few yards, he realizes he can hear the sound of the donkey's footsteps behind him. He turns. The donkey stops walking.

JACK. You're not following me, are you?

The donkey simply stares. Jack looks at the donkey suspiciously for a few moments before walking away. He hears the sound of footsteps again. He turns.

JACK. Shoo. I'm sure you've got somewhere to be. And you must be pretty damn late, too. Getting yourself stuck in bogs. Don't go doing that again. Get on your way now.

Jack turns to leave again, but the footsteps immediately continue. Jack doesn't bother turning around.

JACK (mutters). Peter goddamn Piper.
