going through the ruins

"MIKEY!!" Raph exclaimed and hugged his youngest brother tight before letting go,
"Where were you? And did you see Leo or Donnie anywhere?" He asked

"Nope, i didn't see them anywhere, i just woke up in a bed with Toriel covering me in a blanket," he said

"Who's Toriel?" Raph asked
The goat monster who was next to Mikey replied

"I am Toriel, caretaker of the ruins, come with me, i shall lead you through the ruins."
She said

Toriel lead the way with Mikey following and, after a few moments hesitation, Raph followed them, curiosity and protective nature getting the better of him.

They entered a gate and saw a purple room with red leaves as decorations, Mikey hadn't been through this part of the ruins and was curious, he then saw a gold star shining in front of the ruins, he touched it and a voice in his head said
'the shadow of the ruins loom above you, filling you with determination!'
'huh, weird' Mikey thought, but didn't put any more thought into it as he ran to catch up with his brothers and Toriel.

They went through a few puzzles before Toriel left them halfway through, claiming to have urgent business before going into the ruins, bu not before warning Raph and Mikey not to go further, she then gave them a cell phone, before leaving, but Raph ignored that warning completely, Mikey being quick to follow, he saw another star, same as the one he saw in the ruins

"Hey Raph, do you see that?"
"See what?"
"That star on the leaves!"
"...... Did you hit your head a little too hard or what?"

On that note, Raph went forward, but before that, Mikey touched the star and again heard the same voice whisper in his head,
"Playfully crinkling through the leaves fills you with determination!"
He smiled and kept following his brother.

They went through a few more puzzles, with either Raph or Mikey falling through the pitfall traps, the first time that happened, Mikey fell down and Raph panicked so hard, he jumped down there to make sure Mikey was alright, they then climbed out of the trap, with relatively no injuries,

it wasn't long until they were engaged in battle by a whimsum, but one look from Raph sent the poor monster running away in tears,

"But I barely even did anything!" Raph was really confused but nonetheless, they continued on,

They solved all the puzzles some with difficulty, and they got scraped in some battles, but every time Mikey found a save star, they healed magically, there was always a different line to greet him though,

"Knowing the mouse might one day leave its hole and get the cheese... It fills you with determination."'what's up with the determination?'  Mikey thought,

finally, the brothers reached a crossroad, only lead to a dead tree with the same red leaves they saw everywhere, and another had a blank road which lead to another path.

"i say we go this way!" Raphael said, pointing towards the path with the tree

"why?" Mikey asked

"just a feeling"

so they went down the path, and saw Toriel coming out from behind the tree, she looked surprised and quickly came running up to them

"oh! children, what are you doing here?" she sees their scrapes from battle, as Mikey hadn't found a save star on their way here

"oh my, you both are hurt, here, let me heal you," her hands were covered in green light and both Raph and Mikey were healed

"I'm sorry, it was irresponsible of me to leave you there was it not, never-mind now, come along now, " and with that, she went inside a little house with some writing on top, which the turtles could not read, Mikey found a save star in the leaves surrounding the house, so he went over and touched it.

"Seeing such a cute, tidy house in the RUINS gives you determination."

Mikey smiled and went inside the house along with Raph.

"welcome to your new home!" Toriel says,

"come, i have a surprise for you!" she leads them to a corridor with three different doors

"Toriel, what do you mean by 'our new home'?" Raph asks

"i mean, that you'll live here, from now on!" she says

"I'm sorry miss Toriel, but...... we cant live here," Mikey says

she has a grim look on her face and, without a word, turns around and goes to the basement,

Raph and Mikey go and follow her in anticipation and worry.
