Air

Air, the commodity in which we take advantage of to live. We breathe it in even if we don't want to because the pain of suffocating is far too great.

Air, the resource we claim not to see and would be better off without it. The space that looks and feels empty just so happens not to be. The lungs burn with desire for the resources in which are abused and destroyed.

Air is like many people. We need it, but often don't acknowledge its existence. We know it's there and we abuse it's purpose. It's in the corner that looks and feels so empty.

Air, without it your blood would run cold. Your eyes will roll into the back of your head. Your heart stops beating your lungs stop breathing and you die.

We depend on air like we depend on people. Yet, we don't acknowledge it was ever there until it's gone. When that person who walked with you through thick and thin. Was there for you when you got dumped over text. The person you took so much advantage of leaves. Your heart starts throbbing in your chest leaving the loneliness in the pit of your stomach.

After they're gone you notice. You needed them as much as you needed air.
