Introduction

I had lost my life in Azgeda. I had been forced to leave and return to my home, return to Trikru, hoping that they would take me back in. With Roan gone there was no reason for Queen Nia to keep me around. She had never liked me and would gladly have my head, forcing me to leave almost immediately after learning of Roan's exile. In shame, with a hanging head, I had returned to my birthplace.

That was years ago. They had refused to take me in. I had asked for my brother but the only answer they'd give me was 'exile'. Somehow everyone I loved ended up in exile. I had left and searched the woods where I had eventually stumbled across him.

A lot of time has passed since. A lot of things happened. People fell from the skies. The mountainmen were overwon. There was a form of peace because of commander Lexa. Lincoln and I had moved in with the sky-fallers and it turned out to be a good life. 

But of course everything had to change. Regression to the mean, I believe the old books call it. 

But those bad things led to good things too. But I'll get to that later.

My name is Nessa. All my life I have been looking for a place I could stay forever and I'm yet to find that place. I had the feeling I was getting close and then I had to go and screw it all up.
