"Scott, please don't go!" I plead, not wanting to see the love of my life walk away from me.

"No, Anthony, I'm leaving. I can't do this anymore, you only care about yourself!" He says while walking out of the door.

"Scott, I can change!" I say as tears stream down my face.

"People don't fucking change. Goodbye Anthony." He says as he opens his car door.

"I'll be back for my things tomorrow." He says before slamming the car door shut.

I drop to my knees, tears continuously falling from my eyes. I sigh, wiping the tears from my face and standing up. I close the door, pulling my phone out of my pocket as I walk over to the couch.

I can't do this, I can't let him win. I'll show. I put my phone to my ear, listening to it as it rings.

"Hello?" Evan asks.

"Can you come over?" I say, trying to sound strong.

"Yeah, is something wrong?"

"I'll tell you when you get here."

"Okay, I'll see you soon."

"Thanks, Ev." I say and hang up the phone.

I bite my lip and open door, Evan stands in the doorway, looking confuses.

"Panda, what's wrong?" Evan asks while pulling me into hug, I smile softly at the old nickname.

"He left me." I whisper.

"He didn't deserve you." Evan says, his voice sounding stern.

"I loved him, Evan." I say while looking at him. He shakes his head.

"He doesn't deserve your love, Anthony, he's a piece of shit." Evan says while crossing his arms. I roll my eyes, placing my hand on my hip.

"Evan, you've never approved of anyone I've dated."

"They didn't deserve you, Anthony."

"Then who does, Evan." I say, frustration growing inside of me.

"I do." Evan says softly, avoiding my gaze.

"What?" I ask, feeling dumbfounded.

"I do, Anthony. I'm in love with you. Haven't you noticed?" Evan asks, tears welling in chocolate brown eyes.

I'm completely at a loss for words. I stare at Evan, not knowing what to say, not knowing what to do.

"I'll go." Evan says and turns towards the door. I shake my head, grabbing onto his arm and pulling him back to me.

"Anth-" I cut Evan off with a soft kiss.

"I love you too, dumbass." I say against his lips.

"Do you really, or you just saying that?" Evan questions.

"I really do, I just never found the right time to tell you and I guess now is that time." I say while hugging him close.

"I should have said something earlier, maybe I could have saved you from this heartbreak." Evan says while stroking my cheek with his thumb.

"Maybe this heartbreak was meant to bring us together." I say before pressing another kiss to Evan's lips.

~2 years later~

I smile happily as I walk down the pier with Evan, my best friend and my lover.

"Is that Scott?" Evan asks while pointing to a bummy looking man laying on a bench.

"I think it is." I say as we get closer.

"Scott?" I ask as we approach the man.

"Yeah?" He while sitting up.
"Anthony?" He now questions while standing up.

"Yeah, what happened to you, Scott?" I ask while looking at his dirty clothing. 

"I guess I've just been down in my luck.. Marcel kicked me out and I guess I didn't really know what to do with myself.. I should have never left you." Scott says while sitting down.

Evan rolls his eyes, wrapping his arm around my waist in a somewhat protective manner.

"Maybe you shouldn't have, but I'm happier than I've been before. I hope you get back on your feet. If you need a place to crash call me, my numbers still the same, but other than that have a nice life." I say while grabbing onto Evan's hand, ready to walk away from Scott.

"Are you guys a thing now?" Scott scoffs.

"Yes, as a matter of fact we are and I treat him a million times better than your sorry ass ever did. If you smart, you would have kept him, but you let him go and now I'm lucky enough to call him my fiance. You fucked up, Scott, and you're the only one to blame." Evan says. Scott looks at him like he doesn't know what to say, no witty comeback, no snarky commenet.

"Goodbye Scott." I say while walking away. 

"Don't go." Scott says while standing back up. I turn back and look at him.

"People don't change, Scott." I say, his face drops slightly. Oh how the tables have turned.

"Goodbye." Evan says to him while taking my hand once again and walking away for good.
