Chapter 2: Look! More People I Know

Start from the beginning

"Of death," Kyle muttered under his breath.

"Ya know what Kyle? I don't wanna hear it," I argued.

He held up his hands in surrender.

"Just sayin," he pointed out.

I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Okay Lily, why are you here?" Peter asked, emphasizing my name.

Ignoring him, I turned to Toby.

"Come here my man whore friend," I told him.

He shrugged and walked over.

"Whaaaaat?" He groaned.

I slapped him in the shoulder.

"Ow, what was that for?" He complained.

I shrugged.

"I felt like you were gonna say something I needed to slap you for," I grinned.

"Ok, so did you just call me over to abuse me?" He asked.

"Siiiiigh, no," I drew out,"you've met my sister Melina before?"

I motioned to Melina.

Toby looked at her.

He winked at her.

"I've never been formally introduced," he grinned, and Melina blushed again.

I rolled my eyes.

"Well them, Melina Toby Toby Melina," I introduced, grabbing Melina's hand and holding it out.

With a smile, Toby reached out and took her hand.

The second their hands touched, he ripped his hand back.

Melina let out a piercing scream and dropped, dragging me to the floor with her.

"Damn it Toby, I wasn't ready," I groaned.

I focused on how much I loved Melina as my sister.

I took her pain, made it mine, blah blah blah.

Honestly, this must be getting old for you.

This is what I get for being a good person, you get bored.

Anyway, it only took a breath or two to get used to the pain.

My parents burst into the room.

"What the hell is going on?" My dad exclaimed.

"Wellllll, I crashed the meeting, disobeyed Peter, made him mad, helped Melina and Toby realize they were mates, take away her pain, nothing out of the ordinary," I listed off with a shrug.

"What!" My mom shrieked.

"So help me God if you wake up my boys," I groaned.

Chuckling,Hunter walked over to me.

Wrapping his arm around my waist, he pulled me close to him.

Letting out a sigh, I laid my head on his shoulder.

My mom's face was so pale I thought she might pass out.

"Try not to faint on us mom," I stated.

She didn't seem amused.

"I have so many questions I don't even know where to begin," my mom rubbed her temples, and my dad gave her a hug.

I sighed.

"Don't worry I've got it," I assured her.

She looked up at me.

"I would have died along with you when I was being born, but Eva saved me. Eva is the enchantress of the full moon, and I recently began to really explore my powers that she have me. I've known for years that I could take someone's pain and make it my own. I have other powers, but that's a story for another time," I explained.
