Chapter 2: Look! More People I Know

"Come on, let's go to my room," she smiled.

"Sure, but why don't we just go downstairs?" I asked.

"My cousin and her mate are coming soon," Melina explained.

"Cool, I can't wait to meet her!" I grinned.

Just then, the door bell rang.

I caught a whiff of someone familiar.

"JOHN!" I exclaimed, sprinting down the stairs.

I jumped from the fourth one up and plowed into him.

"Thank you so much for saving my life!" I cried.

"Woah,hey girlie," he chuckled then Emily walked in.

"John, who the hell are," Emily began," wait, Lily?"

"Hey Emily!" I grinned, giving her a hug.

Melina came walking down the stairs.

"Hey em, how's aunt Julie?" She asked.

"Oh she's good, um why is Lily here?" She replied.

"I guess you're my cousin," I shrugged.

"Wait seriously?" Emily asked.

Melina nodded.

"Okay, who am I not related to?" I exclaimed.

"Oh, you're not related to Toby," Emily pointed out.

Melina blushed.

I eyed her suspiciously.

"Let's go upstairs," I suggested.

"Kay!" Emily grinned.

The moment we were in Melina's room, I turned to her.

"You like Toby, you like Toby!" I chanted.

"What! No I don't!" She argued, and Emily and I giggled.

"You totally do!" I exclaimed.

"Ugh, lily shutup!" Melina whined.

"Not until you admit that you like Toby," I shrugged.

"Fine, I've liked him for years, but he hardly knows I exist," she sighed.

Emily scoffed.

"Oh trust me, he knows you exist," she promised.

Melina just looked at her.

"How do you know?" She asked.

"He's a man whore, he makes it his business to know pretty girls," Emily explained.

"Five bucks says their mates," I thought quickly to Emily.

"Oh there's no way, it's just a crush," she thought back.

"I swear to God if you say you aren't pretty I will hurt you," I warned Melina aloud before she could argue.

She snapped her mouth shut, and I smiled.

Emily and I teased Melina for the next hour,or so, about liking Toby.

"I'm your older sister, shouldn't I be teasing you about liking guys?" Melina mused.
