Elsie

Elsie was 14. She was the most beautiful girl in school; cherry lips, skin as pale as cream and eyes that seemed like they could see into your soul. She was deaf- that was just how she was born, so it was all she'd ever known. Being deaf didn't affect Elsie at all, though. In fact, she was one of the smartest in Oakwood High.
She was very passionate about art. The way she drew was like watching a bird soar through many skys- the way she swooped the paintbrush was like something from a fairytale. She drew music. Since she'd never heard music she drew what it looked like to her. Her favourite piece of art she'd done was of a violin with delicate bubbles floating of the strings.
Her best friend, Marine, was the shyest girl you'd ever meet. Crystal eyes and emerald dyed hair made her beautiful. Though Marine died last year, after falling 10 feet from a tree.
So for a year Elsie had been alone. She was mysterious, weird, freakish, as the other children whispered. But Elsie couldn't hear them. And that was just how she liked it.
