|the story of how it ended up there|

Kim wandered around town, happy as ever. She had a loving fiancé and had the perfect relationship. Well, that's what she thought. It was nearing Christmas time and Kim was shopping for her fiancé, Keith. "What to get him," she mumbled as she browsed the shops. She looked at a few items before putting them back. She decided she would go another day out of town to find something else. She headed home early to surprise Keith.

She hopped on the bus that led her straight to her house. The bus ride was long, boring and irritating. She had a man sitting beside her who clearly didn't understand the concept of personal space and a child sitting behind her who kept playing around with her hair.

When the bus finally stopped outside her house, she jumped off as quick as she could while thanking the bus driver. She quietly unlocked the front door, knowing Keith wouldn't be surprised of her appearance if he already heard her coming from a mile away. She closed the door quietly too and placed her bags on the floor. Luckily for her, she didn't make a lot of noise.

Walking up the stairs, she heard odd noises coming from their bedroom. She figured he was just watching tv, so she carried on heading to the room. She opened the door and was met with a horrendous sight. Instead of screaming, she carefully and quietly stepped out of the room.

She raced down the stairs and out the door, breathing heavily at the scene she witnessed. "He is so dead," she muttered to herself. She went across the street and hung with her neighbour. They were good friends but also, she could easily see the other woman coming out of the house. But when it was taking a while, she decided to call Keith. "Hey, I'm on my way home. I'll probably be back in about five minutes."

"Uh, okay! See you soon!" She narrowed her eyes when he cut the call quickly. His heavy breathing just angered her some more. When the other woman walked out the house, clothes and hair obviously a mess, Kim was getting more and more angry.

"Thanks for the tea, Geraldine." Geraldine was, oddly enough, married to a man called Gerald. Kim liked them as neighbours, they were always nice to her. "Tell Gerald I say hi!" Kim casually walked to her house and unlocked the door. "Keith, I'm home!" Keith suddenly ran to the door and gave her a big kiss on the cheek. She felt gross knowing his lips had been elsewhere. "How was your time alone?"

"Oh, you know, the usual. Bored without you." She almost snorted at his comment. When he wasn't looking, she rolled her eyes at him. The anger was boiling up inside of her when she saw him prancing around. He acted as if nothing had happened. "How was shopping?"

"Good." Her answer was short and it sent a message to Keith that something was definitely up.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" She turned around and shot him a smile.

"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" Keith looked uneasy. He cowered back a little bit when he saw a small murderous glint in her eye. She made her way to the kitchen and Keith followed her, not exactly knowing what was happening. When they were in the kitchen, she was hovering around her knife set. "Is there something you would like to tell me? You know, preferably before we get married."

"What are you on about, Kim?" In an instance, Kim drew out one of the knives and smiled at it. "Um, what are you doing with that knife?"

"I'm admiring it." Keith backed away slightly as Kim looked at the knife with a weird look. Kim's gaze then went back to Keith. "I'm also imagining ways to cut you." Keith seemed taken aback. His eyes widened and he put his hands out in front of him to slightly block himself.
