Alex took a deep breath and knocked on the door, she was standing outside of Maggie's flat after pacing around for hours trying to find the cop.

Maggie had never told Alex where she lived but it was easy for an DEO agent to look through a few small files , or maybe many small files of the police departments records.

She had meet up with Maggie and searched for aliens together the day before and the day before and the day before, It became a thing that they did, every day. But after numerous unanswered calls it had become a big worry for Alex as to where the cop was, and if she was in trouble.

Alex had never felt such a big hole of worry, pain and stress for a work partner and it was extremely confusing for the DEO agent to feel.

Her mind had been racing at 400 miles per hour worried sick for Maggie and so now when she stood outside of Maggie's door worried sick, she was also nervous which confused Alex greatly.

Her palms were sweaty and it felt like a punch to the stomach when someone else than Maggie opened the door.

"Ummm hi, I'm Alex, Maggie's..... Maggie's friend!"

She wasn't even sure if they were friends, sure it had felt like friendship when they went to the alien bar together after helping Supergirl capture the evil aliens.

But now, standing in front of someone who very much looked like Maggie's girlfriend, she had never felt more like a crumpled paper ball lying in the corner of a dim lit room filled with toxic chemicals.

She realized that she had stood quiet in front of Maggie's girlfriend for a little too long of a time and quickly spat out an excuse for being worried about Maggie and that everything seemed to be alright, as tears sprung to her eyes.

She said bye and scurried down the hall frantically trying to wipe away the tears that fully covered her cheeks. She was angry, angry with herself for feeling like if the whole world was going to end.

Maggie is just a great cop and she is pretty and cute and adorable and smart and strong and beautiful and-. She has a girlfriend. She thought to herself and kept walking even though she wasn't looking where she was going.

Almost at the end of the stairs Alex finally looked up and heard Maggie running after her, shouting her name. Both of them stoped almost at the bottom of the stairs and stood quiet, for a minute they admired each other.

A smile was tugging at Maggie's lips but a great sadness was filled in her eyes. Her face was a bit red and her breath was ragged after running down the stairs shouting.

Alex's cheeks were red and tear stained and her sight was blurry as her eyes were red, bloodshot and puffy. A bit of her short black hair was sticking to the side of her chin and an eyelash was laying peacefully on her nose.

"I should go," Alex said and turned around to walk down the last few stairs. Unfortunately she tripped and fell down tumbling to the ground and hitting her head hard against the marble floor.

The last things Alex saw before she blacked out was a terrified looking Maggie running down the last few steps yet again shouting Alex name, but now shouting for dear life.

Maggie had been sitting in one of those white uncomfortable plastic chairs in the waiting room along with Kara for five hours now. Waiting. Waiting to know if Alex was alive, if she had made it.
