ONE CHANCE

One chance
I've held your hand before I could even know how to walk,
I want to hold you're hand even now when I can walk.
I feel safe when those fingers get locked into mine,
Then, even the worst seems tip be going all fine.

Oh how do I tell you father that you're my world,
In finding your happiness my thoughts twirl.
There's no day when I do not want to see you,
My goal always is to be you.

You've aged your skin and worn out your bones,
Been through thirst but gave me ice cream cones.
You made your day and night one to buy me chocolates and toys,
You suffered through pain but always showed a smile of joy.

How do I be like you, your hard work is too much to replicate.
You show me fierce heart but I know it is delicate.
I want to bring endless smiles to your face,
To keep me safe you took pain like the wounds of a mace.

Believe in returns, for I want to give them to you,
Whatever's yours I want to bring it to you.
Shake a leg and have a good dance,
I want to give you lots of happiness, just give me a chance.
