~Emerald's POV~

Red and I walked beside the creek in comfortable silence, just watching the water rush past. It was like watching your worries topple over the waterfall and out of sight. They would tumble into the lake with a small "splash!" as creatures would dash to it's edge to investigate. I chuckled lightly at the sweet thoughts and Red glanced at me, smiling.
"What're you thinking about?" he asked me curiously, his wolfish yellow eyes full of questions.
     "Nothing." I mumbled, still distracted.
We continued walking down the river until a we reached a clearing. Afraid, I took a small step backward, my eyes wide at the sight. There were wolves.. everywhere. Some looked like wolf neko—half wolf.. half human.
I felt a hand brush past my arm and soft, minty breath in crook of my neck.
"Who is this?" A silky voice whispered, obviously aimed to Red. I turned around slowly, seeing a platinum blond boy, about 16, with bright green eyes, like mine.
I could tell that Red had swallowed back a growl. He replied, "Frost, this is Emerald. Emerald, this is Frost."
"Not a great impression," I whispered.
Frost looked at me intensely. I glanced at Red and our eyes met. "Show him you're not for sale," he mouthed.
I looked back at Frost and growled naturally, giving him my blazing death stare.
He gave a surprised flinch. "Not bad, angel. You might just survive here."
