As a child I was always able to resist having reactions to chemicals. When I was 11 my childhood home blew up. We had a propane leak releasing flammable deadly gasses unto the house. It was 3:00 in the morning but lucky for me I couldn't sleep, the fireplace was on, naturally, it sat in my parents' room. When I first smelled the gas I thought nothing of it. Slowly though my level of worry increased, I went to wake my parents, bringing along my baby brother just in case. By the time I reached my parents room it was too late. The propane smell had increased greatly and then it came time for the explosion, when the propane started to drip I knew that I would need to make the ultimate sacrifice. I picked up my brother and ran, I ran faster than I ever had until I reached our closest neighbors who were almost an eighth of a mile away.
