50 yards: distance
RD: down and back in a 25 yard swimming pool. In a race, the 50 back, breast, and fly is usually only for 10 & unders. However, the 50 free continues on through all age groups and reaches even the Olympics.
SD: eh... okay. These aren't so great if you're a distance swimmer. A 10x50, 20x50, or even 30x50 set isn't the best. Especially the intervals...
However, if you're a sprinter, these are awesome. Just, BOOM, down and back. Done. You don't need to save up enemy, you just sprint. 50's are different for distance swimmers and sprinters. But either way, they're pretty nice, if you just do ONE 50....
... or two.
