It'd been a week since Sherlock and John finally confessed their feelings for one another but their relationship got put on hold as the next morning Lestrade texted Sherlock, letting him know there was a case so the two left in the broad hours of the morning for The Yard.

Now Sherlock has just solved the case and is complaining about his boredom.

John sighed, becoming agitated as Sherlock announced for the millionth time in the past ten minutes that he was bored.

      "SHERLOCK!" John finally shouted.

The man in question turned to face John, a look of surprise passing over his face at the doctor's outburst.

John pinched the bridge of his nose, "Please. Stop complaining. Read or compose or hell even experiment on something!"

Sherlock scoffed, "What fun is that?"

John rolled his eyes, "More fun than hearing you complain."

The detective rolled off the couch and plopped unceremonially onto John's lap.

       John cringed slightly, "Careful there."

Sherlock smiled sheepishly and gave John a peck on the lips to say sorry.

The army doctor wrapped his arms around Sherlock's waist, "Now what do you want?"

Sherlock frowned, "I was going to ask you something but now I won't."

John rolled his eyes, "Just ask me."

Sherlock sighed dramatically, "I was going to ask if you would like to...go to dinner with me. Like a date. That's what you do in relationships, right?" he finished a bit unsure.

John felt a fluttering in his chest. Sherlock just asked him on their first date! John grinned, "Yes, Sherlock I'd love to go on a date with you."

Sherlock got up and hauled John to his feet, a genuine smile gracing his lips, "Perfect. Go change and we'll be on our way."

John got up on his tip toes and gave Sherlock a loving kiss before going to change.

Forty-five minutes later the couple were at Angelo's and this time John didn't protest when Angelo brought a candle to their table.

After the waiter left with their order, John grabbed Sherlock's hand which had been resting on the table.

Sherlock smiled at his boyfriend but his eyebrows furrowed as he heard a squeal from the other side of the restaurant. The two turned to the source of the noise and saw four girls crowded around a table. Two of the girls looked very similar so they were obviously twins, both with short hair. The next girl had bright red hair just past her shoulders and freckles dotting her face and the last girl was a brunette who had her hair dyed red. They were obviously friends who went out to dinner and it seems they were all trying to figure out who should go speak with Sherlock and John.

John smiled at the girls and waved them over. The four girls excitedly got up and scurried to their table.

"I'm really sorry we're interrupting your date but would you mind if we got a picture with you both?" The red headed girl asked.

Sherlock was about to say something, most likely something rude but John cut him off, "Of course!" John tugged Sherlock out of his chair and the girls stood beside them while Angelo came over and took their picture.

The girls crowded around the picture and the brunette squealed, "Thank you!"

      Sherlock smiled, "You're welcome."

"Before you go what are your names?" John asked, "I don't believe I asked earlier."

"I'm Kaylie." replied one of the twins. The one with the longer hair of the two.

       "I'm Taryn." her twin said.

       "Traci." replied the red head.

"And I'm Ashleigh!" the brunette beamed.

John smiled, "Lovely to meet you all."

The girl, Kaylie, smiled, "Thanks for the picture! Well let you get back to your dinner." And with that, they left.

       "I'm proud of you, Sherlock."

      Sherlock raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

      "Because you behaved." John laughed.

Sherlock rolled his eyes and smiled and the two enjoyed the rest of their date in peace.
