Chapter Three: Beautiful Dungeon

Start from the beginning

There was an awkward silence.

"So." We both started.

"You first." Will said.

I took a breath. "So...How are you coping with everything?"

He made a face as he spun me in a circle. "I think this whole thing is really crazy. We're not allowed to leave our rooms without permission and I had to sit in a chair for four hours just to get ready for the ball.

I groaned "Four hours?! Ha! At least you didn't have to endure eight hours of torture just to look this good."

He flushed and dipped me like the dance required. "No. But you would look good regardless."

I frowned as I looked over Will's shoulder.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing. I just thought I saw someone familiar." I blinked and they were gone.

He looked at the spot I was focusing on. "I don't see anyone."

I shook out of my daze. "It was probably my eyes deceiving me. So what were you going to ask me earlier?"

He stepped on my foot.

"Ouch." I yelped

"Sorry." He mumbled.

The dance ended and before I could say anything else someone tapped me on the shoulder.

I turned around and saw a boy my age with messy black hair, cerulean blue eyes and a charming smile. "Mind if I cut in?" He asked with a bit of an accent holding out his hand.

Will reluctantly let go of my hand.

The stranger and I fox trotted our way through the crowd of people.

After a minute or so He spoke. "The name is Zeke. Zeke Danger."

I laughed, throwing my head back. "Danger?"

Zeke rolled his eyes. "Yup. I definitely live up to my name. I get into all kinds of problemas masculino."

I raised an eyebrow. "Spanish?"

"Eh sort of. My mother was raised in old Spain as a child, before the war. She has always been big on patrimonio."

I nodded. "I see." I paused for a second. "Now what is your position on the team?"

He gave me a strange look. "I thought you would know, after all, you are the team leader."

I frowned, confused.

He smirked. "Allow me to re-introduce myself. Zeke Danger, Engineering Officer for Mission Flacon."

My eyes widened. "Oh, so you're on my crew."

"Pretty much."

"You're the one who keeps my ship running." I said. "Hopefully." I coughed.

He narrowed his eyes as we spun in a circle. "I am very good at doing my job."

I ignored him. "So have you met any of the other crew members?"

His eyes twinkled. "Yeah I have. There's me, you, that guy that was dancing with you earlier is another one, a girl named Casey, another guy named Gabe, and I think maybe two others that I haven't met."

"I didn't realize there were so many of us." I said out loud.

Zeke laughed. "Luna, I'm surprised you haven't thought about this already. You are the team leader, you're supposed to know stuff like this."
