Draco Malfoy woke up the next morning to find a letter on his doorstep.

He opened it and recognised that it was from Hermione.

Leaky Cauldron, 8:00 am

He looked at his clock and saw that it was already 7:30. He got dressed, ate breakfast and then off he went to Leaky Cauldron.

When he arrived, Hermione was already there. He took a seat in front of her and it was obvious that she has been crying all night.

"Draco." She greeted him.

"Good morning." He greeted back.

"Good morning to you too."

"Why did you call me here for?" He asked.

"Draco... I... I can't... be with you... anymore." She sobbed.

"What?"

"I said that I can't be-"

"Yeah, I heard you the first time. Why?"

This time, tears started forming in her eyes.

"Ron needs me now." She said.

"What do you mean? If he needs you then why did he leave you?" He exclaimed.

Hermione's tears rolled down on her cheeks.

"During his late mission, he was bit by a werewolf and he became one. He was concerned about me because he cannot control it every time he transforms so he thought it would be better to just leave until he can already control his self." She explained.

It was true but it took her several explanations to accept it.

"I left because I was scared of hurting you." He said.

"And did you think leaving me would not hurt me?" She shouted.

"I'm sorry but I needed to know how to use the Wolfsbane potion and learn how to control myself."

"And it took you five years?"

"I'm afraid so. I was about to give up but the only thing that kept me going is you."

"What do you mean?"

"Remember the time when I left when we were hunting Horcruxes? The same thing happened. The light goes straight into my heart. And I always hear your voice."

"After all this time? You never left me for another girl?"

"No, I didn't. You're the only one that I love."

"So what about the both of us now? You don't love him! You love me!"

"Draco, he is still my husband."

"But you don't love him." He argued.

"Yes I do." Hermione said but it was like she was making herself believe in her words.

"But not the same way as you love me." He said.

"He is my husband and I love him very much." She exclaimed.

Then, tears formed at his eyes and he began to cry. There was no sound, just the tears rolling on his cheek.

"Hermione, I want you to leave your husband and be with me!" He exclaimed.

"I can't just run away from Ron now that he's back!" She said.

"And besides, I am happy with him." She added.

"Hermione, I know that you love me. Please don't do this." He pleaded as more tears came out.

"I'm sorry Draco, but we are just not... meant to be... together. We are never meant to be."

"So I guess this is goodbye to everything we have?" He asked.

"This is the end of one chapter of our lives. Another one is about to start."
