When she was born, everything seemed to stop. The beat of her mother's heart. The smile on her father's face. Love that had been promised to her for nine months... disappeared. That's most likely why the father she would never know left her here. Amara's Woods was supposed to be infested with all manners of monsters, with half of them on a human diet. Her father knew this, yet when he rested her on a stump in the middle of the trees, it never crossed his mind that the monsters would choose him as a meal over her. He was dead before he'd walked ten steps away from her.

The creature was beautiful. Almost human in appearance, yet she had a few eerie differences. Her skin was alabaster white, reminiscent of someone long-dead. A pulse beat out from black veins, easily visible from her nearly translucent skin. Her lips were perfectly adorned with the most enticing red, although it was neither her natural color nor a lipstick. Just above her pull lips was a thin and dainty nose, a perfect fit for her face. Long, thick waves of ebony hair cascaded down her back, stopping just before it touched the ground. The seductive set of lashes to match framed the most chilling pair of scarlet eyes. She wore a black gown that slinked down to her ankles, revealing her matching slippers.

"This is the price you shall pay for trespassing into my territory, human." Amara's voice was that of a siren. At least, as close as it could be to one, considering her lack of fishy-ness.

The sound of skin tearing and bones snapping was nothing compared to the screams he let out. That is, until she decided to snap his neck a few minutes later. After that, there was nothing but the sound of Amara enjoying her full-course meal. She devoured him until there was nothing but clean bones left. Only then did her attention shift to the baby.

The child had not made a single sound yet. All she had none was watch in fascination, looking at the pretty lady. She hadn't even moved an inch from where she had been laid down. Not that she could. Her father has tightly bundled her up in her mother's  silver cloak.

Blink.

Amara crawled over to the child, not considering her a threat in the slightest. She looked into the deep green eyes of the newborn, examining her. The child had pale ivory skin, enhanced by the fiery red strands of hair in her head. She looked human. But something was off. This baby had something a human shouldn't. Her aura was not that of a newborn human, but the pure magical energy of a newborn seer.

"This child should have awakened physically as a seer... but something seems to have gone wrong. In this state, she will be unable to wield her magic or use her sight at all." Amara mumbled to herself. This was bad. If this child cannot use her magic, she cannot complete her mission. A seer is only born when the need arises for one, which also means she's the only living one at the moment. She was born specifically to prevent one evil thing from happening, so the issue must be solved.

"ALDORA!" Craning her neck back, she bellowed out a familiar name, the sound echoing through the trees.

It wasn't long before she could hear the soft sound of wings overhead. A petite woman slowly descended, carefully avoiding stray branches on her way down. Her face was a gentle one, framing her big chestnut eyes. Just below was a button nose, topping her excited grin. Her short golden curls were just barely long enough to cover her ears. Excluding the pointed tips, two inches sticking out. Her honey-hued skin went well with the large fae wings protruding from her back, translucent, yet reflecting all colors of the rainbow. She wore an amber dress, stopping at her knees, and long leather boots. She gracefully landed, dusting off a few leaves.

Taking a glance at the child, Aldora started off slowly. "Amara, sweety, I know you like children, but..."

"Aldora... If you don't shut up I'm going to rip your wings off your back and then light them on fire." She growled, the intent to make her words a reality clear in her eyes.

"Yes ma'am." The fae said quickly, taking a few steps backward.

The immortal sighed in relief. In all the hundreds of years she'd known Aldora, it had always been a test of patience to even have a conversation with her.

"I need you to use your dust. This child happens to be a seer, but was born into a human body. As we both know, the human body can't handle using or holding magic. So, either we change her body, or she dies by next sunrise." She explained slowly, hoping for Aldora to understand the seriousness of the issue.

Lifting her hands up in front of her, Aldora rubbed them together. Not for warmth, but to produce a small amount of fae dust, about a handful and a half of pure magical energy. "You want me to use my magic to mutate a human into a fae? Hell, I'd do that for fun. I call naming rights though!" The fae said in a mischievous way. "Unwrap the cloak so I can apply my dust to her bare skin. I need to make sure she gets the magic and not the fabric."

Amara quickly unwrapped the docile baby from the cloak, instead using it as a cushion between her and the stump. Stepping a safe distance away, she watched anxiously as Aldora carefully applied fae dust to every inch of the newborn, before sprinkling some on her wide green eyes. As an extra touch, the excess dust was rubbed into the cloak. They both waited around a few minutes before the changes started occurring.

The changes happened slowly, one by one. Wide, round green eyes becoming almond-shaped gray eyes, with a slightly cat-like iris. Round human ears became pointed fae ears. Fingernails and toenails turned into beautiful obsidian claws.  A Celtic tattoo appeared on the back of each hand. A small pair of wings almost identical to Aldora's sprouted from her back. Her mother's cloak shrank and molded itself to become a tiny gown and slippers for the newborn, completing the transformations.

"It's safe to come back now. Your little human has been successfully converted into a fae seer. Although humans shouldn't be able to see that she's a fae. This little thing's aura already has a strong glamour going on." Aldora said over her shoulder cheerfully.

Amara returned to her previous position next to the child, examining her. Her magic is now flowing at a healthy rate, and she should now be able to use it safely. She bit her index finger, before wiping the blood on the child's forehead. Most creatures will shy away at the smell of this blood. She watched it quickly disappear before speaking.

"You said you wanted to name the child. What have you decided to call her? It's the last we can do before dropping her off in a human village. Fate needs to run it's course. Although we can watch over her from the shadows just in case." She breathes out, calming herself.

The fae thought for another minute before answering. "Sibyl."
