She felt the needle puncture her skin. Over and over again. Its was definitely hurting, but she was strong. She wasn't going to cry. She had been wanting to get this tattoo for so long that she was not going to let herself back out now. And besides, the tattoo artist was just finishing up the last bits before she would be done.
"And, done!" the tattoo artist said as she wiped Joline's arm clean. Joline couldn't wait to see the piece inked on her body permanently. She got up from the tattoo-chair and walked up to the mirror and looked at the bundle of flowers that now resided on her left underarm. She almost couldn't believe her eyes. It was beautiful. She couldn't believe that it actually came out exactly how she had imagined that it would. Her mother would have loved it just as much as she did. Joline felt a wave of emotion suddenly wash over her. Damn, she really missed her mother. If only she could see her mother just one more time in order to tell her about all the great things she's accomplished since she last saw her mother. She managed to get into her choice university and she had met the love of her life there as well. His name was Shawn. And Shawn was amazing. She'd met Shawn during her first week of school. She had accidentally bumped into him in the library and they had basically been inseparable ever since. Every year on the anniversary of her mother's death, she and Shawn would visit the cemetery and bring a fresh bouquet of her mother's favorite flowers; Scarlet Pimpernels.
Joline was rushed back to reality by the voice of her tattoo artist. "So, what do you think?" she asked. "It's exactly how I wanted it to be. Its absolutely perfect" Joline answered. She walked back to the artist and went in for a hug. The tattoo artist hugged her back. After exchanging a few last words, Joline let the tattoo artist bandage her up and she was on her way.
As Joline walked out of the shop towards her car, she noticed something laying on her front windshield. When she got close enough to see what the object was, she immediately recognized what it was... It was a Scarlet Pimpernel.
