Prologue

Present Day 

Being undead sometimes sucks. I mean, it really sucks. Maybe that's not the best way to start this blog entry. I've been away for longer than I'd like to admit, but I'm beyond giving a shit about being prim and proper. I'm a vampire, a Vampire from Hell no less, and I should be able to make my own decisions, right? Well, you'd think so. 

The boys, as I like to call the men in my life - J, Death, Michael, Blick, and Ra - can all take a flying leap off the nearest mountain. 

Okay, maybe I should simmer down. My temperature has been running hot since I drained my first blood god, Typhean. I mean that quite literally actually. Even so, I've been through a lot lately and I shouldn't be upset with the fact that I'm truly dead. I don't mean dead as in undead vampire. I mean dead as in 'Death escorted me out of the room' sort of dead. 

Don't you hate that? When a book starts off and the main character is dead? I'm not gonna beat around the burning bush with ya. I can't do that to you guys. YOU are on my side. My fans out there who now email me. I write for you. If my slimy sister and demonic father (aka Lucifer) have a problem with that, they can ...well I'll save that for another day. Stephanie has her own issues right now, thanks to me. [Insert innocent eyes and flutter lashes.] 'Bless her heart,' as my friend Lynn would say. "She had it coming," I'd reply if anyone asked me. Consequently, no one has asked me. More on that later. 

Let's get back to my story, my being dead. That's easy enough because you already know the answer if you read my blog or if you read the title of this entry, the Vampire from Hell Returns. And so I did. I returned to Hell. [Insert eye roll here many times.] It was a blast. [Insert sarcasm here.] 

You know the saying, 'I've been to Hell and back'? Well in my case, that statement is true. Now I can say that. I hate to do so, but it's all true. For those of you who know all of my story up to this point, you realize what that statement really means. Because my father is Satan. He and I don't or didn't get along soon after I ripped his heart out of his chest. My sister has decided to take up where he left off. Oh Stephanie. She'll never learn. And I can't blame her. I walked into her celebration party she was having in Hell when she claimed the throne and I horribly mucked things up. At this point, you may know what my sister is like, and yes, the snaky chic of a demon didn't stay quiet long. Think of a cat fight on steroids. That's how it ended up between my dearest sissy and me. Or maybe should I say that's how it really started.
