I KNOW WHAT AN EDITORIAL IS!!!-Rant

Okay I'm about to rant if you couldnt tell from the title.

A little back story, at my school I take a journalism class and about every month we create one issue of our newspaper.

There are cub reporters and editors, I'm a cub reporter, which is basically the first level of the class.

There is this huge book on journalism that we have to read some chapters out of and answer these crazy long questions based on it, which is annoying!!

So there was this one chapter on editorials titled "How to write editorials"

Basically an editorial is an article that express your opinion in some way without using I. There are editorials that praise, explain, entertain, etc.

So first the lady (teacher) you know what lets just call her Ms. Knowitall

Well anyways Ms. Knowitall made the whole class read that 100000 pages in that one chapter.

Afterwards she had us write an actual editorial piece. Here I am thinking "wow I totally know what I'm doing"

I apparently don't.

And before Ms. Knowitall gives us back our editorials she says

"You guys did not seem to understand what an editorial is so I think it's a good idea to load you up with more work and make you read the chapter again while answering all of these really long bajillion part questions okay? Okay."

BOI LIKE NO I JUST WHY I UNDERSTAND ALREADY HOW TO WRITE THIS EDITORIAL

so I read it again and miserably answer the questions.

After I turn it in I get that paper back before my actual written editorial article and on the top of the paper it says nice job! written in Ms. Knowitall's handwriting. Basically proves I know how to write these things.

So I felt confident that I wrote a good article, because I followed the instructions in the chapter she made us read twice.

I didn't

Today we got back our editorial articles! I look at my score on top,

7/10

I mean okay I probably had bad grammar and spelling or I didn't make sense or something.

But no.

Written in ink at the very top it says,

"Reread chapter 13. This is not an editorial."
