"Could it be that he was the one who attacked Anna's family in the first place?"
"I mean, it's not unlikely. The bastard already is so violent, I wouldn't be so surprised."
"But wait, how would he had gotten away with it?"
"Don't you know!? His uncle is a police officer, what if his uncle let him be because he is his own nephew?"
"Yeah, that'd make sense, but what about the rest of the police force, surely some of them have common sense, right? Why would the police let Nakir be if he was a murderer?"
"Because fuck the police, that's why!"
A false truth becomes a blame, and the one who was unfortunate enough to be blamed is False Nathan himself.
"Hey, you little prick! Are you not going to apologize? She's been through a lot, you know? The least you could do as a killer is apologize!" a Senior shouted towards Nathan as he passed by.
Nathan glanced at the Senior then at Anna. His right eye, the one that would always change colors every day, was now hued in the color of cherry red. It reminded Anna of what happened when she saw into Nathan's left eye. She began to shudder as she gasped, looking away and biting her lips.
One of classmate took notice of her expression and lashed at Nathan, "Look at her! She's on the brink of tears! How cruel can you be, you fucking demon!"
Nathan gritted his teeth while his brows narrowed, glaring at the students. Turning his hand into a fist, his puffing became evident and his eyes slowly shifted from honey yellow to crimson red.
The senior taunted him, "That's right, show us your true colors. I'm not afraid of a prick like you."
Nathan began to zone out, his eyes drained of life as he began to approach the senior. Nathan's panting worsened through the thought of beating them to a pulp, it filled him with the desire to lash out, to get rid of the annoyance in front of him. They were like a fly, so irrelevant yet so annoying that you want to crush it under your palms. As Nathan raised his fist, Zack swooped in and wrapped his arm around Nathan's neck. "YO, Nathan! What's up!"
Nathan's eyes beamed with life once more at Zack's entrance, stuttering, "H-Hey..."
"What are you doing here? Let's go to our class. I want to show you some awesome comics that I read over the weekend." Zack gave his natural kind smile as he pushed Nathan to continue walking through the hallway.
The students near Anna seemed pissed at Zack's interruption as they screamed, "Hey! Come back here! We're not done with you!"
Zack looked back at the other students near Anna and pointed at them with a firm glare. His eyes sharp as a knife as he frowned towards the other students, his teeth jammed shut that they could shatter upon the force. The senior and other classmates swallowed their breaths upon seeing an expression that they'd never expect from Zack. He turned his head back to Nathan with a soft grin as they continued to chat. The rest of the day was Nathan being gossiped about and Zack trying to keep Nathan distracted with his company.
When it was lunch break, Nathan and Zack bought snacks and ate outside at the front of the high school instead of in the lunchroom, there would be too much attention on Nathan if he was inside. Nathan acknowledged that Zack was the only person keeping him at bay, if Zack was not around, who knew what he would have done to the students at the school. There's one thing that Nathan swore he'd never do, and it was that he wouldn't apologize for something that wasn't his fault. No matter how much blame was put upon him.
